DeSantis voted to cut Social Security and Medicare

I heard this brought up yesterday but isn't the right also pushing not to raise the debt ceiling? You would think they would be on board with cutting two of the largest government programs?

The woke woke woke woke stuff he is hammering is not going to convince any liberal to give DeSantis a chance with a vote.

The data (and his own track record) don't support that. The key is you have to tie the culture war issues to an issue that suburban Independents and wine and soccer moms care about. DeSantis won the women vote 53-46 in 2022.

DeSantis has tied CRT into education. A lot of mama bears aren't aware of what they're kids are learning. DeSantis regularly holds press conferences where he reads the disgusting CRT material from books. Heck, a local liberal news channel in Florida cut their feed because Ron was exposing their agenda. He advocates for parents having more input in the education of their children. He did the same thing with all of the perverted books that talk about sex and trans-ing the kids. Mama bears were outraged that their children were reading these books.

Trump is incapable of being articulate enough on this issue to win over voters.

DeSantis tied the Lia Thomas situation with Women's sports. Women don't think it's fair that a biological man gets to compete against them. DeSantis can rifle off the event that Thomas "won" and who came in 2nd and was the real winner. If you asked Trump if he knew what sport Lia Thomas competed in or who HE is, Trump would say no.

DeSantis tied mutilating children with children and women's safety. When the liberal media talks about "Gender-Affirming Care", DeSantis immediately corrects them and says that it's really cutting off the breasts of young girls. Trump isn't capable of being articulate on that issue.

It wasn't just DeSantis, either. Youngkin succeeded in winning over mama bears with the CRT issue.

Dems took advantage of the election changes during Covid while the Trump team was caught flat footed.

I believe that ballot harvesting was a key to winning, not changing numbers after the fact.

I have ZERO belief in Ronna or the Trump team to have a plan or invest enough money into ballot harvesting to combat what the Dems will do next year.

Why?

I will vote for Desantis in the general vs. Biden if he’s the nominee.

But from a practical standpoint, in a GE his staking his whole campaign on wokeness will not excite persuadable voters. Democrats in partnership with the NAACP have already cast him as a book banning, homophobic racist who is draconian on abortion issues.

I don’t personally believe that he’s any of those things, but I am also not the targeted voters on these issues. His response has basically been - nuh uh.

Desantis doesn’t need to convince people who already agree with him.

He’s had great results and is a great governor - but if we really wants to end the “culture of losing” , we need to acknowledge reality

Reality is that he just won by the largest margin ever by a republican.

Think they may translate to other key states? Or no?

I disagree. Similar messages helped propel Youngkin and DeSantis in their last elections. How do you explain Youngkin coming out of nowhere and beating McAuliffe.

DeSantis will focus on other issues like inflation. border, economy. But the "let kids be kids" message will be there also.

BINGO

This country is gone. we are fighting 4 types of people

1) groomers
2) commies
3) left wing leeches
4) pure unadulterated morons who do not know policy or what is really best for this country

those 4 are what keeps a GOP guy from a landslide like it should be. we are a nation of morons and there is no turning back. unless u educate all these loons.
