I didn't take it...but it was coming down to the wire until the SC stepped in. Also, a lot of companies mandated it.

I didn't either but I was offered a buyout and retirement before the days were up because of the knee.
But as far as doctors, I stopped going to my primary physician during it and did Tele appointments for refills because he kept his office door locked, you had to wait for the nurse to come outside and do a covid screening, and if you didn't have a mask they wouldn't let you in. That shite was a joke and people's reactions were worse
Notice the only time COVID rules didn't apply is when it came to Biden sniffing little girls lol

Technically the credit belongs to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. SCOTUS wasn't gonna touch it until the 5th wrote a detailed summary saying Covid is a ubiquitous airborne virus that isn't confined to just a place of employment so OSHA has no jurisdictional right. The 5th deserves the real credit in boxing SCOTUS in and forcing a ruling.

Defense contractor employees were threatened with firings in they didn't get the jab because Biden threatened the businesses with loss of contracts. Is that not a mandate?

Alternatively I could have gotten a "negative" test within 72 hours of flight. The risk here was getting a "positive" result which would have ended my travel plans (along with financial loss). Additionally this plan if successful, wouldn't have addressed the other requirements of "Safe Access Oahu" regulations, including no access to restaurants and bars without proof of vaccination or a negative test every 48 hours.
So, yes, you are correct. I could have gone unvaccinated for my 6 day trip to Hawaii, but I would have needed 4 different "negative" tests. Failure of any test would have ended my trip. It could have also caused delays in returning home, because if they quarantined me on day 4, I couldn't return home until quarantine ended on day 9 of my 6 day trip.

The sad, and ironic thing about this horrid situation: for those few brilliant people who saw through the sham, and were mandated to get the shots to keep their job and then faked the paperwork: their employer should have been able to fire them for having lied about it when they then got infected.
But, everyone who got the shots got infected, and almost no one said to the President or the CDC Director or the CEOs of Jand J or Pfizer or Moderna “say, why did you fricking lie to us”

Biden announces sweeping vaccine mandates affecting millions of workers
The administration said the new mandates could affect around 100 million people, more than two-thirds of the U.S. workforce.
WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden on Thursday issued two executive orders mandating vaccines for federal workers and contractors and announced new requirements for large employers and health care providers that he said would affect around 100 million workers, more than two-thirds of the U.S. workforce.
"We've been patient, but our patience is wearing thin," Biden said, making a direct appeal to the 80 million people who he said were still unvaccinated. "Your refusal has cost all of us."
Biden also announced that he asked the Department of Labor to issue an emergency rule requiring all employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workforce is fully vaccinated or require any unvaccinated workers to produce a negative Covid test at least once a week. The requirement could carry a $14,000 fine per violation and would affect two-thirds of the country's workforce, a senior administration official said.
Employees working in health care facilities that receive Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement will also be required to be vaccinated, Biden said, a move that will impact 7 million workers at 50,000 health care providers.

I think their position is that anything short of prison or being held down while being given a shot is not a mandate.
You could have chosen to leave the army and not take the shot. You weren't forced to take the shot.

My employer, who was (and still is) fully remote demanded all employees get the shot.
I dared them to fire me, and they backed off on the last day of the deadline. A lot of us employees held strong, and caused the company to blink.
Anyone who claims there was never a mandate is a liar at worst, or a dumbass at best.

What I don’t really understand is why so many people felt forced to take the shot or lose their job when, allegedly, a PDF of the card was readily accessible. With everyone and their mother showing off that they got the vaccine on every social media platform that exists, allegedly, lot numbers were easy to come by too.
I was working for a Fortune 250 healthcare company at the beginning of the push to vaccinate and then worked at a local government office about midway through COVID. We had the same threats of “take the shot or lose your job.”
I’m just saying, neither one of those employers had the manpower or ability to accurately check every employees’ handwritten vaccine card that was thrown out at random pop-up drive-thru shot clinics/fairgrounds/stadiums.
I saw some colleagues just keep their mouth shut at work about being against the forced vaccination and slide on through the ruckus with a homemade laminated PDF card off Google images. From what I have been told through hearsay, those folks never had a problem boarding a domestic flight, going to get a surgery, or any other type of inconvenience.
As the world turns.

Tell that to my father in law who developed parkinson like symptoms within hours of his first mandatory dose of the clot shot. It was that or get fired from DoD. Now he is medically retired and cant talk or move without violently shaking.
