You're right. Both far extremes end up being the same thing at some point except the left has far exceeded what is considered normal by any sane person.

Communism is the government funding of social destruction.

Fascism is the force required to reverse that social destruction.

Pretty much everything isn’t.

Let’s start with Equality in Society as the headers and control.

What requires the most control?

Socialism, communism, authoritarianism, Facism

All require the same thing, yet are on opposite sides. On its face that makes zero sense.

Conservative government seeks to limit the power of government, not eliminate it because society needs some rules to survive and thrive. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The authoritarian philosophies require virtually total control not do society cannot thrive. They want everything stagnant with no change. Anything that opposes it has to be silenced or killed.

The masters and the slaves. That’s what they want, and if they do ever pray it’s that the slaves never realize it until it’s too late.

You know fascism has a definition, right?

And the modern extreme right Republican Party fits it perfectly, right?

You're not that ignorant, are you?

Or fly away little programmed drone. Fly and regurgitate your programming.

Edit: *In Morgan Freeman narration voice* Aaannndddd the little drone flew away. Absolutely free from any critical thinking abilities. He flew away to more friendly, hive minded, and fellow lack of critical thinkers. Where everyone takes their commands for obedience and is handed their thoughts for the day. Thinking lock step like bees in a hive…….

If fascism is the only tool left you have in order to survive, you have no choice but to use it or die.

Lay it on us. First, present your accepted definition of fascism.

Then , present your personal definition of extreme right.

Then, present the summary of how your accepted definition of fascism perfectly fits your personal definition of the the extreme right.

That guy makes a good point. But characteristics of fascism included extreme nationalism, a ruler who would not give up power, and an oligarchal collaboration to depress worker rights and salaries. The different national versions of fascism that arose in the first half of the 20th century had different features. Hitler’s had a strong workers’ rights component. Franco’s and Mussolini’s did not.

When the left looks at Trump they see the first two. Of course, Trump is the exact opposite of the third point.

I think the tweet in the OP had it right, the left are either Communists or fellow travelers, and they automatically label anyone who opposes them as fascists.

They do not know what fascism is. The tweet is kind of bogus, fascism has a meaning to it. One of the hallmarks, maybe THE hallmark is suppressed speech and suppressed opposition.

Which party is for censorship? Which party has tried to take the other candidate off the ballot, or utilize the DOJ to neutralize the opposition?

I’m not going to finger point and say the Dems are fascists. I think it’s more complicated than that. But if we’re going to talk about which one resembles fascism more… it’s pretty obvious.

Some of them flat out say they can’t be fascists because they’re left wing and fascism is “right wing”. OK, whatever.

Fascism would be LEFT of Liberal.

This is a ridiculous conceit of the ignorant right. Fascism is a right wing movement. It was specifically a reaction to left wing communism. How could it be anything but right wing?

I love the way “authoritarianism” is supposedly right wing when it is, in fact, ideologically neutral. Look at the socialist governments in the West that are making laws that all of your internet posting can be scrutinized by the government, which will then give you citizenship scores. And those scores will determine your rights. Is that not authoritarian?

I have long maintained that the political spectrum is better represented as a circle, on which the radical left and the radical right meet at the bottom - both wanting complete control of the people.

Completely “right” is anarchy.

Although, “might makes right” is the prevailing ideology in anarchy.
He who has enough power to get what they want will get what they want.

There IS a definition.
It’s the partnering of corporations to do the bidding of the government under the guise of nationalism.
Do the patriotic thing by bending the knee to corporate demands.

Corporations can do what the government cannot.
Hence the DEI initiatives and forced adherence to government mandates.

This pretty much perfectly describes the modern day democrat party except replace nationalism with globalism

That is not the left to rt. Far rt is anarchy, the absence of a hierarchy.

The problem wih the anarchy thing is that its human nature to establish hierarchies.

Im not saying every democrat voter is a fascist, im strictly stating the party, the government is.

They have pushed conformity of what thier norms are by using giant corporations and unelected officials and yes they have used violence and fear mongering to do it.

And of course their nationalist cry for OUR DEMOCRACY.

And if you want to add the race element, they are antisemites.
