The response needs to be similar to this:
“I have no personal animosity towards Walz, so there’s no retribution involved from my perspective. The courts will decide if Walz has been involved in illegal activities. I have no involvement in that process, but I understand he needs a deflection from his personal issues and he’s chosen me.”

Sounds so sincere with "That's what he wants" tagged on there at the end. Just a tip. If you want to make nice, don't end it with a accusation that the other person is the actual and solitary evil party in the dispute at the very end of your statement
