As Trump said in the debates "Wrong!". He knows very well that if you let countries like Iran screw around and poke at you without a firm response then you are just inviting more of it and it will elevate. Just like the illegal immigration crap. Sit back like Obama and do nothing, you will get it ramped up.

That is one big reason I pitched in 2016 for Trump, that he had the gravitas and unpredictability to make other countries second guess before screwing around with him. None, and I literally mean none of the other candidates the Republicans had in play in 2016 would strike any level of fear with regimes such as Iran's and the same goes for the Dems this year...not one of them can be looked at and taken seriously to bring the heat on foreign threats. I don't even think this is debatable.

My position is much more pro American than your war mongering is.

Amazing how when it comes to war you people trust everything the government tells you.

65% of the world's oil reserves are located in the Middle East. Any action wiping out access to that resource would be highly destabilizing. World instability is most definitely a national security risk.

Certainly makes you wonder how the Iranians managed to shoot down a drone that can fly at over 100,000 ft. Could be the US was using the drone to test the surface to air capabilities of Iranian military, could be the US was just careless and was flying the drone too low....if that drone was at it's max altitude and the Iranians shot it down that's a reason to be concerned.

Indeed.

Video just shown of the drone going down over open water. US military is undertaking recovery efforts in the Strait.

Trump should break out W's hurricane machine and park a Cat 5 over Tehran for about a week.

Wouldn't that be fun?

What in twisted mind do you think we can do to stop such irrational behavior??

What sacrifices do you want to make to stop this huge nuclear war you predict if we pull out of the ME?

Tell me again how did you dream this up?

I'm sure you would have asked the same thing of Hitler in 1936.

It wasn't some rogue Republican Guard idiot who pushed the button. Not when you have Iranians releasing IR footage of the attack.

Not really. Look at the SR-71s altitudes when doing recon work. Technology and such.

This as all the earmarks of a set up, as anonymous says.

Pick one...

A. Take out the site that fired the missile.

B-Take out Iran's entire Navy

C-Destroy some of Iran's refineries.

D-Take out key government buildings in Tehran

E-Bomb nuclear testing/development sites

F-Build additional consensus... then Impeach.

I've not seen any Iranian footage of the tanker incident or the drone.

You honestly think Trump will do anything outside of faux rage on Twitter? He left himself an "out" with the "I think that it was a mistake by someone stupid"

In before "Obama's line in the sand" regarding Syria.

Not really?
Detail resolution at 5 miles is not better than at 18miles using the same equipment?
Of course it is.

I'm far from certain Iran could pull off such an attack, so I'd start there.

Me too!

But, you have far more confidence in the USA's FBI/CIA than do I. The FBI/CIA are responsible for defending the USA from that sort of thing, but, IMHO, neither of them are very good at their main jobs. They are much better at being a domestic attack operative against Trump and his administration.

So, IMHO, the USA is more vulnerable than it used to be.
