Trump is concerned about polling showing Ken Paxton a general election liability, and he does not like that Ken Paxton had an affair

or maybe he cut a deal with Thune? Trump backs Cornyn and Thune brings the SAVE America Act to the floor.

I’m good with Trump endorsing Cornyn to get the Save America Act passed. I’m still going to vote for Paxton along with nearly everyone else who was going to before this.

You may not get a chance to vote for Paxton:

I’m not sure Paxton would drop out even if Trump asked. There’s too much bad blood with Cornyn and Paxton support is high. Texans will be encouraging him to stay in the race.

Did Rand miraculously not just ply for a talking filibuster on the SAVE Act?

Trunk is not a conservative.

Neither is Cornyn.

I don’t see Trump making this announcement and then endorsing Paxton.

Hunt will probably throw his support for Cornyn also, if asked…

Trump needs to stop playing politics and drain the swamp . He seems to normally side with the person already in the role like they will actually work with him in the future . He either needs to start backing all outsiders or not back anyone . At this point he is just getting in the way .

He may do it, but

Might as well say it’s your opinion, would hold as much weight.

Trump's endorsement might not be such a good thing come election time if Iran is still alive. Lots of bases in TX filled with those record numbers of Trump recruits who joined up believing unwinnable ME wars were in the past.

Well when the Trump agenda continues to hit the Senate brick wall, he can't complain.

If Trump does this it’s because he knows something that you don’t - that Paxton will lose to the democrat. The democrats did the smart thing and nominated the more electable candidate. If the dems flip this seat, and get a couple of flips like that, it would be the difference between Trump impeached and convicted and Trump serving two more years and appointing more judges and kicking more arse.

They joined because they want to serve. They joined because this military is guided by the Department of War. The Department of War is led by Secretary Pete Hegseth.

You actually think that matters. I’m sure 90% of politicians have had an affair
