A Transition requires getting rid of Maduro's Henchmen, and the Paramilitaries out of Venezuela. How are they going to do that without boots?

Sounds like something a stupid commie would say.
And I’d wager their nationals interests just changed.

Venezuela nationalized their oil and infrastructure in 1979. Chavez terminated leases when he came to power. That’s hardly stealing oil from the US.

I think this is the US sitting down with the military and telling them they can play along or join Maduro. They’ll install someone quickly that will play along on an interim basis while the US helps rebuild the oil infrastructure.

Well of course we are. We took out their leadership because China/Iran/Russia were gaining so much influence.
We should run things and kick out the communists.

You forgot to mention those leases were terminated after US oil companies invested $5 Billion in building the Venezuelan oil infrastructure.

I suspect there were regime people working with USA!

Yeah, stolen. Thanks for confirming.

This means boots on the ground, then. Or at the very least, a large security force. There will be a push-back by insurgents who are members of groups that are no longer in power, like some of Maduro cronies. If this transition lasts to long, then China and other countries will foment protest and terrorist strikes against the US transitional personnel. I don't like the idea of US personnel in Venezuela for more than a short time.

POTUS just said he’s not afraid of boots on the ground.

I don't like this decision. The only way it ends well is if the U.S. military destroys all military capabilities of the Maduro regime, which then allows the legitimate winner of the Venezuela elections to take power.
Thats my hope as well, quick transition.
Maybe we help them shoot all the Hamas and Hezbollah soldiers.
Its not a Muslim country so maybe they can get up and running like Germany after WWII.

Don’t really see this as nation building.

Hopefully this isn’t for long as there’s plenty of work to do right here in the United States.

I suggest studying history.
There will no doubt be pushback from insurgents and we will have to respond.
Regime changes are never swift. Ask virtually any Indochinese country how regime changes panned out for them. Particularly with US involvement. It’s messy.

I largely support the attack last night and bringing Maduro to justice. I do not agree and am not thrilled to hear about us being back into nation building.
When this whole Maduro thing started heating up years ago if really didn't know much about South American countries. Now, I definitely get "middle-east" vibes about this situation because if we're going to have a presence there after our continuing interventionism, will things ultimately be better for them when (if) we leave? Especially with Colombia right next door, which isn't much better.
...or is this part of the plan, to put us on Colombia's doorsteps and eventually "liberate" them too?
I certainly have questions. I'm not taking a hardline stance one way or another on this, but just trying to look ahead. I know Maduro is an illegitimate leader and a wholly corrupt criminal crime boss and he needed to be handled.
