Our guy should just stand up, say “but no one can reason with these fellows” and leave the room.
See how many people there read The Godfather.

1) This is all just grandstanding
2) all (5) permanent members of the UN security (US, France, UK, China, Russia) have veto power on anything "resolution" the security council comes up with
3) I find it pretty rich that Russia is condemning "aggression" against a sovereign nation.....

It's like nobody's hardly pissed this happened so much as they are ticked they weren't asked permission first.
Agreed. And you can bet our closest allies were informed as a professional courtesy, but we didn't ask permission. Let's also be blunt, 99% of the world's population couldn't tell you who the Venezuelan President was 36 hours ago.
Whatever the UN bluster might be is simply to entertain the masses back in their respective homes. Nobody cares that we nabbed this narco-despot.
ETA: to be clear, I am not of the opinion that this was the right thing to do. Just that all of this bluster for Maduro amounts to crocodile tears in the world of geopolitics.

Saying US violated UN...conventions.
We clearly did. We need to say "So what?" and leave the United Nations. Membership in the UN no longer benefits us.
UN Charter and Use of Force
Under the UN Charter, all U.N. members—including the U.S.—must refrain from using military force against the territorial integrity or political independence of another state unless:
There is Security Council authorization, or
It is in self-defense against an actual armed attack.

South Africa has a DEI ambassador to the UN?

I've listened to several of these "meetings" and it's the same old crap every time.
When IRAN has an open mic to comment on anything humanitarian, then it's not only useless, but comical.
We should form our own security council with Nations that want to bend the knee. I mean that without any hyperbole.

When the press asked our Prime Minister about the drug boat strikes off our shores she said "kill them with a vengeance".
The rest of the Caribbean whining about the US and the fckers make all their money off US tourism. Hell Barbados is the most outspoken and the US is the number one supplier of tourists and they are currently being bailed out by the World Bank of which the US is loaning the most money.
Our Prime Minister has let US ships dock for joint exercises, set up US military radar in the country and given Rubio hugs and kisses publicly.
She is smart, we have some big gas fields shared by us and Venezuelan and we have a large energy infrastructure.....we fixin ta eat.
