Shootings like this are tragic, but plenty of people are shot dead every night and day in America. Why does the shootings only count in certain situations?

This feels like he had some sort of mental break around 2017 or so that ended up getting him blackballed. Just from that screed of links and such on his website, it looks like he was desperate to be liked/admired. Perhaps a relationship went badly?
