Vance is a little more of a question in my mind. I still don't trust him and if this is true, I trust him even less if he is concerned about the political optics of this strike.

Not enough. They want to buy time until Trump is gone.

Question is whether Trump wants a short lived win or wants to change the world dynamics.

It is a moving target with a helluva lot of defensive capability surrounding it. The odds are low but never 100%

Well it’s almost 1am in Tehran. If today, it’s now or never. I would go ahead and kick it off to get ahead of a preemptive attack.

Regime change should be the goal. Anything less is just buying time until Trump leaves office

Regime change is the only way that place will be cleaned up. Perhaps, Ghaddafi part 2?

I don't think the protestors can hold out for months. They need our help now

Exactly. They will all be dead without some kind of help from the outside world.

We need to act soon. Not out of some grand humanitarian gesture to save the downtrodden but rather to use these protestors to help us meet our goal of regime change.

4d chess.

We aren't going to be vulnerable with soft targets in the mid-east afterwards.

Since we dictate the timeline, we can make sure we have eyes on potential counter-threats and counter-targets.

We are Swiss clockmakers. All of the wheels and cogs will be fully operational so we don't have embarrassments.
