Will be very disappointed if our leadership doesnt see the once in a lifetime chance here to remove probably our biggest geopolitical thorn outside of China and Russia

I guarantee that all the Arab nations love a weakened Iran, and hate a Shah led Iran allying with Israel and lobbying Trump not to take action. This is ESPECIALLY true for Turkey, followed closely by Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Just like in 1979, a major shift in the balance of power for the entire Middle East.

That's the number that the Iran regime put out there. Other reports are at least 12,000 dead, and that was days ago.

Grok says there is no evidence Soltani was executed. No evidence from any mainstream service it can find.
This is beginning to remind me of the Ukraine war. Both sides are putting out tons of propaganda to rally onlookers to their side. It's very hard to know what is true. Just like in Ukraine, we have a media blackout and the country has no internet.
Hell, the Ukraine war has been going on five years and I still have no clue what the hell is going on over there.

Very hard to get Delta Force in there. You need choppers, etc. It's a long way from the border to the heart of Iran. The Pakistan mission to fly Seal Team Six in there was risky enough - this would be much harder.
But I don't think Trump is just sitting around doing nothing. It takes time to mobilize forces to plan any kind of significant strike in a landlocked country like Iran. Just sending a couple of B-2's over for a bombing run won't accomplish enough. You're going to need some massive air strikes to take out a ton of targets. And even if you do that, you aren't going to get the very top leadership that way (they will be in bunkers a mile deep). But maybe you can take out some military leadership and create enough chaos for the Iranian resistance.
And Israel better fricking help. I want to see them put their planes in the air. And if we send in spec ops units, I want theirs in there too.

Well that link says 12K and that’s not from the regime. Just a “source inside Iran.” I think I’ve read that the regime itself admitted to about 2K deaths. Like most things the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
Personally I think Trump needs to do something. I’d hate to miss out on a golden opportunity to change the Middle East for the better for generations. Saving the Iranian people is a nice bonus I suppose.
Not sure if it that “something” needs to be airstrikes, Special Operations raids or just Cyber warfare with CIA helping the revolt covertly.
