The U.S. government will no longer commemorate December 1 as World AIDS Day, the State Department recently notified its workers. The U.S. has commemorated the international observance annually since 1988, including every year of the current president’s first term.
An email to State Department workers notified employees and grant recipients not to publicly promote the day “through any communication channels, including social media, media engagements, speeches or other public-facing messaging” nor to use U.S. government funds towards any World AIDS Day observances, The New York Times reported.

I'm curious, have we had any other disease days? Like 'World Whooping Cough Day'?

Stop commemorating all gay shite. This is a good start.

I would still be for supporting it if they just changed the name to "World Stop fricking In The arse Day".

Good. We should stop all funding of AIDs research as well.

Nah we cant stop funding now. I believe a complete cure will be found in the next 2-5 years. I mean pretty much right now people, with HIV don’t die from it. Would be short sighted to stop now when a complete cure and possible extinction is this close.

Ryan White reminds everyone that AIDS is not a gay disease.

I think we have a month dedicated to breast cancer.
It's when the NFL wears pink stuff.

Whooping Cough Day is November 8th, but it seems to be limited to Australia.

Dr. Fauci treating AIDS patients:

This abrasive proclamation is a threat to our democracy. Time to lower the flags to half mast.

Why was 'World AIDS Days' even "commemorated" in the first place? As an official apology by WorldBioLab Inc?
Btw, here's the definition of "Commemorate":
1) To honor the memory of (a person or event, for example), especially with a ceremony.
2) To serve as a memorial to.
"The statue commemorates the discovery of anesthesia."
3) To call to remembrance by a special act or observance; to celebrate with honor and solemnity; to honor, as a person or event, by some act of respect or affection, intended to preserve the remembrance of the person or event.
