In my youth
A) Sicilian Catholic matriarchs
B) Full habit (only circle of face and hands exposed) nuns
Both were freakishly fast and strong when it came to beatings and disciple. If you knowingly ate meat on Friday, it was a MORTAL SIN and you took a beating for it. That is how you were taught in my youth.
I feel pretty certain the nuns and matriarchs of my youth would go to jail in this day and age, but back then they were the "living" word of God and you did what they said or suffered the punishment of the disobedience.

What are you arguing? That the contradiction isn’t important? It’s important in the sense some allege that the Bible is God’s word inspired by the Holy Spirit. These same people allege that God is perfect, all-knowing, and all-powerful. Either none of those attributes are correct, or the Bible isn’t divinely inspired, at a minimum. Why would God inspire imperfection and mistakes?

Of course you can’t even keep your trinitarian views in a somewhat cohesive logical and consistent format. Are you saying there is God and his son Jesus (2 deities)? Of course not. Honestly though out of all of modern Christianity, I think the most illogical belief and most inconsistent thing from what the Bible actually says is the Trinity. That’s why the church fathers argued over it for 400 years and the arguments continue to this day.
ETA: the self-sacrifice of Jesus, through the Trinitarian lens, may be the illogical and nonsensical thing in Christianity. It’s also the basis of that very Christianity. God has to sacrifice himself to pay a ransom to himself to save people from a hell that he created. It’s utter nonsense.

I think the Hindu's may be the most tolerant but no beef with them so they lost me as a convert.
