re: Wait times exploding for Canadians waiting on healthcare procedures

My first GF in NYC was Canadian from Magill. She was rather conservative, but Canada's socialized medicine had just started. I worked really well having taken over a fully private system with state of the art equipment and full medical staffs.
However, the bean counters soon implemented rationing and long wait times to cut costs. The advanced medical equipment aged and wasn't kept up to date and the staffing degenerated as experienced practitioners retired or left for greener pastures. Now, Canadian's who are really in need of treatment quip, "My dogs and cats get better treatment."

When are people gonna use their brain, the people making the rules don't follow the same rules you have to because they make the rules, hence the come to US for procedures then go back to their home bragging how good healthcare is in the homeland.
They don't give a shite about you, never have never will, It's all about them

ours. at least you can get care, but it might take you years to pay it off.
not to mention the money you throw away on insurance premiums every year.

Best health care system in the world and it’s free.

That’s part of the design of the system.

The solution is to build giant work camps where they work and only fed gruel until their medical debt is paid off. Kind of like everybody else with medical bill does. No more free rides and usage of the er for sniffles.

No, Dinglebear. Stating a simple fact is not a gotcha, or an attempt at one. I can only write it. I am unable to understand it for you.

That was the whole plan

I mean it’s propped up with lies.
Theirs isn’t perfect but ours is a shite show?
More like ours isn’t perfect but universal healthcare in this country would be a shite show.
Especially since your group loves to open borders.

Our healthcare system now puts insurance companies and politicians interests ahead of doctors and patients.

People that want this in the US really are retarded. And I mean that in every sense of the word.

The wait times are a feature not a bug.
By denying prompt care they’re assuming some patients will just not seek care and others with more serious conditions will die without expensive treatments thus reducing overall system spend.
It’s the entire purpose of the review boards they have: limit intake to reduce system costs.

Each and every time the leftists start clamoring for a nationalized healthcare system, they deny that these these wait times exist and that the rationing of care is required to contain costs. Facts be damned, they want healthcare to be "free" for everyone.
Trump signed that EO demanding a decline in drug prices in the US. I have no idea if he can actually enforce that and what it means for drug pricing around the world.

But American leftists would usher in a better form of socialism.

Long story short, I’ve a very good friend who needed an emergency operation while visiting Canada.
Before this trip, he was very much so on the Bernie/AOC thought train that America needs socialized healthcare.
Well, after his operation there and the week post-op he had to stay in the hospital, he now strongly prefers the American healthcare system, although he admits it is flawed, he acknowledges from his Canada experience that it is much better for patient experience and outcomes.
