They moved to Jefferson Parish, inter married and their kids were all mostly legit with no connections to OC. Marcello and Carollos are all pretty much legitimate now. There were associates that were pretty active in the business about 15-20 years ago in the tourist business and coffee imports and offshore services, but even all that is minimal today.

I guess he's counting on the whole birthright citizenship case to negate birthright retroactively.

Frickin' WOPs......always trying to play an angle!!!! Are you talking about the Sicilian immigrants who settled down as farmers around the Amelia area?

They can stay.

My dad side came over in the 1890s. My mom's side was in Louisiana before the U.S. was a country and became part of the U.S. when Thomas Jefferson purchased Louisiana from Napoleon for $15 million.

Just like Tony. Now, Uncle Junior is another story. Bobby Bacala going strong.

Steve Schirripa is a very funny dude IRL.

The NOLA Mafia no longer exists so not sure what deporting Sicilians in 2026 would prove. There are some who swear NOLA was safer when Marcello controlled things down there.

This one isn't in NOLA but is Sicilian...

If you bother to check historical records a bunch of them were deported. In fact Carlos Marcello was deported to Guatemala.

Actually, the rampant increase in urban crime somewhat tracks with the crackdown on organized crime.

The Italian mafia at least had the decency to have a code of conduct and do a pretty good job of holding each other to it.

This is a Hollywood myth. They frequently broke their code whenever opportunity presented itself. Especially the “dont touch families “ thing. One of the most chilling things I ever read was a transcript of a wiretap of NY mobsters in the 70’s, where they talked about pressing the wife and daughter of a guy they had whacked into pornography. “They’re gonna be in the movies now”, they laughed. And in Sicily, they’re infamous for killing family members of enemies. We romanticize the old Italian Mob much as we romanticize pirates. They were both brutal, murderous, unscrupulous groups.
