To me, Obama was the worst and most destructive president in my voting lifetime. He brought this country to a place it may never recover from.

Obama could have done so much more for race relations but he chose not to.

He could have pointed out the possibilities for a black person in the USA. He could have eliminated the entitlement culture.
Instead he stayed quiet.

It’s really a shame.

I think he just highlighted and normalized the black racism that was already there.
There was pockets of both white and black racism within the older generations, but it was dead within gen x. I think it still is.

The last few years have made Gen X maybe say "I get it now". Gen X youth were told to make sacrifices for things you never did or saw, and things will be better. The last few years have shown those sacrifices were for not and your kids are being told to make even more and worse sacrifices and not sure that's palpable.

At this point Whites are being told nothing you do will be good enough until you are enslaved and breeded out. At some point things will need to be hashed out and Whites can't keep coming to the table not thinking about their own race when the that's all the other side does.

Can't come to terms when subject of the talks are nowhere near the same. Ie...one side says it's color blind and wants to make changes for ALL Americans and the other side just cares about what and how it will benefit their specific kind only. Which of the 2 sides is the true racist??

The whole goal of most politicians is to divide and agitate while they reward themselves with vast amounts of money from insider trading and kickbacks. Name all the politicians not named Trump that left DC poorer than they arrived.

Like hell he did, he introduced terms like "intersectionality" and "systemic" into the mainstream. Prior to jugears the democrats used social class as a wedge. Poor whites were just as oppressed in their eyes as poor blacks and poor browns. It was class warfare, not race warfare.

Now you have black people worth hundreds of millions talking about micro-aggressions, "systemic" has eliminated the need for actual examples of racism, and minorities can't be racist. Obama is a POS.

Pockets of racism exist, but nothing systemic against black people. If racism was a fire, it had burned down to embers by the 90’s/2000s. Obama came along with a stick to stir it up and a truckload of gas to pour on it.

Great point!

Growing up, I remember thinking the Dems were for the working class people and unions and republicans were for major corporations and big business bad guys. Things sure have changed. Now it’s all identity politics and victim hood.

Please explain specifically what the 2016 candidate did to start the divide and everything he has done to continue said divide. Be specific not throw out generalizations.

partially blame Obama for the Dallas and Baton Rouge shootings. He threw gas on the anti-police rhetoric around racism. There is no evidence to support that unarmed black people are shot regularly by cops. It’s maybe around 10 people per year that are found to be a bad shooting. .

I grew up playing ball with Brad Garafola’s older brother....that family definitely had/has disdain for Obama for his constant rhetoric against police, which many feel led to that idiot who shot 4 BR police officers, killing 3 of them. Their family met with Trump during that time, but refused to meet with Obama.

2007 was post-Race grievance. There were still race pimps and race victims but it wasn’t an out of control growth Industry. People were cool. Only low IQ people and various whack jobs were racist. Then with Obama- Racism ( whites are bad others are victims) morphed into the Progressive Race Grievance Industry, became policy and we began to indoctrinate our children and white women into it. And here we are.

Obama also ushered in identity politics and we see how well that has worked out. Obama would also jump on incidents involving police and black suspects by giving his opinion before having any factual information. He automatically assumed the police were wrong.

What did Obama do other than be black.

He did speak out against the silly cop who wanted to arrest Dr Henry Louis Gates on his front porch, but that was called for. I think some white people just had trouble coping with a black president who was generally respected.

Barry Soetero ( he never legally changed his name back to Barack Obama) aka Obama is one of the biggest racist in the country.
