The 1st Amendment protects them from government retribution when reporting factually on the government.

This is an extremely narrow interpretation of the first amendment.

Correct

Holy moly this is flagrantly incorrect.

I truly wonder what it it's like to go through life being so stupid.

I’d consider thinking the first amendment doesn’t protect one from spewing “politically biased BS” rather stupid

No one is allowed to plan and execute a terror campaign against members of a church at service. It’s a crime.

I can decide right now I want to investigate how many cars are parked illegally, and I am now a member of the press with the same protections as an investigative reporter for local channel 6.

Checking cars is on public property. A church is not public property. They can exclude entry to anyone they like. That's why a manager would tell his reporter: 'No, we'll get sued.'

The videos show that he was complicit.

What will set the standard is that when he was asked to leave directly by the pastor, he didn't.

Lemon immediately went on a podcasts and claimed that the people attending the church were all white supremacists.

Several of the others will be nailed for blocking parents from getting their children out of the nursery. It isn't very hard to establish that they intended to cause distress when you use children as leverage.

If they have the freedom to intimidate a church service I reserve the right to use my freedom to beat them about the face.

If it’s open to the public, I can check cars on private property too until I am told to go away.

Do you think Lemon and Fort should have been arrested and should also prosecuted for filming an unlawful/ unpermitted protest?

They broke the law right? Then yes they deserve to be arrested.

I don’t understand (but honestly I do) understand when “freedom of the press“ assured by the first amendment, somehow became twisted in peoples minds to “ as long as I say, I’m a reporter there are certain laws that don’t apply to me“ or “since I’m a journalist I am above the law“

Like, you can’t just break it into someone’s house and steal their computer just because your journalist investigating a story on that person

Just like the first amendment itself, comes with restrictions.

Collusion with persons in the commission committing a crime is generally viewed as being an accessory to the crime.

Committing a crime invalidates certain protections. Shouldn’t be a hard concept for people to understand.

If we had a press that truly served as a watchdog for the public, holding those in power on both sides truly accountable, I’d advocate for and defend every moment.

As it is, we have freedom of activism and propaganda disguised as “the press”.

Instead of a watchdog for the public they largely serve as a guard dog for the goals that the “liberal world order” elites aim to achieve.

I don’t believe that “press” has served any noble purpose at all and would not care one whit if it disappeared forever.

Not sure why people conflate “the press”‘with the mainstream media.

You don’t support the Nick Shirley’s of the world?

So if I get a shirt made with the words "Press" on the front and , "Reporter" on the back and march into Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta and start shouting slurs during the service, what type of response will I get?

And then if I appear on a podcast right after my visit and label all of the people there as a bunch of "N_gg_rs," will that be OK too?

Just asking for all of the black folks who had to put up with that kind of intimidation before the law was passed.

Tricky conviction?

He was arrested...you think this is going to backfire on the DOJ?

So you're saying the people that entered the church weren't spewing politically biased bullshite? You'd be ignorantly wrong. They were spewing anti ice bullshite because of their political bias. The first amendment doesn't protect that after you've illegally entered private property.

FYI evidence was presented to a grand jury, in Minnesota, to obtain the warrant. Think about that for a few seconds.
