You don't understand that the tax burden is borne by the consumer, the employees, or both? As a CEO, what would you do when the government increases taxes? You going to quit the country club, trade your Mercedes for a Ford, and start carrying your lunch? Or are you going to raise the price of your product, pay your employees less, reduce their benefits, have fewer employees, or a combination of all of these?

Corporate taxes are paid by consumers.

They collect them.
Consumers at the retail level pay ALL corporate taxes.
Kinda like tariffs huh?

He does. Hes not pushing corporate taxes.
This thread is an exercise and some are setting themselves up to be hypocrites.

It's going to cause inflation.

Almost, but not quite. With tariffs, consumers can choose to pay it or not. They can usually source from a domestic manufacturer and not pay the tariff. But if you raise corporate taxes the consumer has no choice.

Corporations don't pay taxes. Neve have paid one penny of tax and never will. Unlike you and me, they are blessed with someone to pay their taxes for them: (1) their customers who pay those taxes in the form of higher prices, and (2) their employees who are forced to accept lower wages and reduced benefits.
I've long thought that all income taxes should be abolished and replaced with a national sales tax. That way, the consumer is in charge of how much he/she pays in taxes.. Want to drive a BMW? Fine, but you'll pay more in taxes than the guy who drives a mid-range Chevrolet. Want to eat at a 5 start restaurant versus Ryan's? Same thing. Also abolishes the bureaucracy of the IRS (or much of it) and gets all illegal aliens paying taxes. Prices do go up at the store, but you're bringing how all of your paycheck.
Problem: Congress would NEVER give up that much power, D's or R's.

Besides the fact that corporations will just raise prices to compensate and everything will cost even more than it does now?

A high corporate tax rate is an economic wet blanket. Lower rates make American domestic production more attractive and help stimulate job creation both of which generate more tax revenue.

The way to get there is to abolish withholding. Make every person cut a check to Uncle Sam for their taxes. They can choose monthly, quarterly, whatever, but they have to make a tax payment. Having taxes withheld was a master stroke by the government. people don't even realize how much the government steals until they see their W2.

Higher corporate tax rates force Americans to pay more for American made items. Tariffs drive up cost of goods coming from other countries and encourages companies to move here and create jobs . Corporations in the US are passing the taxes on to the consumer . We should just go to a national sales tax , the. Everyone would pay their fair share .

To increase corporate taxes will present the same problem tariffs supposedly cause, increased price to consumer.

So, just do with less stuff. I mean, you don't need all of that cheap shiite made by corporations, even if it is made in America.

You are much more likely to find one with the tariffs than without.
