Option 1 does nothing to end illegal immigration. It would merely define more persons as non-citizens.
Options 2 and 3 are good, especially 2. Option 2 is what we should have been doing for years. Dry up the employment market.
Option 4 is unnecessary and not effective.

The Wall is almost equal parts barrier and symbol, but we still need it.
I would add that we should absolutely end any welfare, education "in language" or any other benefits for those who cannot establish either:
1. Citizenship, or
2. Legal residence
That alone would go a long, long way to curbing the massive flow.

Yes - all those need to be done.
I think the other side of the equation needs to be addressed as well. i.e. merit based immigration, more streamlined process to become a citizen, and work visas for the low end stuff that they can't find others to do,

Well, it would. A big part of the strategy is the anchor baby strategy, when then provides a bridge from illegal to legal status for the very parents who created the dangerous and illegal situation, and then chain migration for their extended families.
So, Option 1, while the potential there is for some ugly consequences, is a necessary (albeit unpleasant) step.

As stated above by other posters, step 3 probably wouldn't be necessary if all government benefits would require legitimate proof of legal residency.
I'm okay with the idea of providing one-time only amnesty of DACA recipients, but they would need documented proof that they were brought into the US prior to their 18th birthday at the time Obama signed the EO legalizing their presence in the US. Lacking such verification, they would be considered in the same light as adult offenders.
The final step for alleviating the current crisis at the border would require further cooperation with the Mexican government in following established asylum laws. Not sure how that would work out, but if we took the measures above it would be a good start.

Work visas would be an acceptable counter to the 'crops rotting in the fields' nonsense, but they have to be strictly enforced as short-term permits, not as a foot in the door.

Wrong. We need to stop a whole lot more than people looking for a job. I am pretty coool with them. It is the people who are causing harm to this country. Drugs, terrorists etc
