When Carter tried and failed hostage rescue and then did nothing the rest of his term.
RR told Iran he was going in hot on day 1 and the night before his inauguration Iran released the hostages.
Clinton was next with how he disgraced the office. He crossed a decorum line in the Oval Office and its been downhill ever since.

I guess it really hit me when the armed forces started paying for sex change operations. Just an indication of just how deep the rot really is.

When Kennedy was assassinated.

Fear and grievance? You mean justifiable commentary on that loser lowlife Obama was spoken out loud?

After WWII and when they shot Kennedy is where Tucker seems to think we went off course.

When LBJ made blacks a permanant second-class with his policies but bribed them to make them an uncontested voting bloc.

It was about 1985 for me. The country had been way off track, and Reagan led a counterrevolution to bring back sanity. By the 1980's you could see that the Federal Government was turning into a behemoth, and Reagan promised to scale it back. When he was unsuccessful, I knew it we were on a slippery slope to a tyrannical federal government. We would never get a better chance than that.

We elected a pussy hound, conman with Socialist tendencies because he played the saxophone.

After 9/11. The Patriot Act, the blatant lies about the WMD in Iraq that the media never questioned.
Followed 7 years later by the housing market crash due to shitty oversight and the govt bailed out all the major companies while our houses and investments all got cut in half. No accountability at all.

I had a history teacher that is pretty much the opposite of what you would expect. He encouraged questioning everything.
We spent a lot of time talking about the Cold War, and we learned about the Gulf of Tonkin. That was my first time hearing of a false flag (or a least a possible one). At this point, 9/11 had already happened. It didn't take me long to see the similarities. That's when I (fairly young) realized what governments are capable of.
As for as society at large, I realized during the 2016 election that different sides were operating on different sets of facts, and it became increasingly more difficult to discern what was true or false.

About 2 years after LBJ passed 'The Great Society'. I had read enough critiques in The National Review to recognize this is socialism that will grow out of control.

Clinton was in office.....busy trying to quietly destroy the military.

The kleptocracy disguised as capitalism probably started in earnest there with what Weinstein calls the Expected Growth Obligation.

When they wanted to make Washington King.
He was smart enough to say no.
