Earth is finite, as are its natural resources. Getting Greenland will make sense in the long run.

why would Denmark, a NATO member, ever consider selling Greenland to NATO's adversaries?

What if what we would spend on Greenland we spend on big arse bases on Pacific side to scare Commie Russia and Commie China at the same time?

Maybe you're unaware of the amount of naval hardware we already have surrounding China. It stretches from Japan, through the Philippines, to Singapore. Then we have Guam and Hawaii out there in case they ever do break the First Island Chain. We're also reviving some old WW2 outposts in the Pacific. As for Russia, they don't want the smoke from the USN. Their Navy is trash and they know that any confrontation would be a one-sided bloodbath. In fact, Russia's Navy couldn't even make a dent in Japan's Navy, much less ours.

They wouldn't.
But Denmark will very likely have no say one way or the other in 4 months.

That is the point.

It's something "Art of the Deal" recognized 5yrs ago.
Unfortunately for the Danes, they did not.

Alaska is 2,866 miles from Russia.
Greenland is 2,634 miles from Russia.
Mainland Alaska is 80 miles from mainland Russia.

However, Alaska to Moscow is nearly twice the distance (~4000 miles) as is Greenland to Moscow.

Indeed.

True, but Palin lives in Alaska, not Greenland.
