Let me get this straight. You think by more Yankees moving to Louisiana, parents are suddenly going to take an interest in their children’s education?

Southern culture is not about the confederacy. That is a mythology put out by liberal democrats.
The two are inherently linked though. Secession was about slavery, but the Civil War was about Secession. Unionists still don't understand that: it means the same thing to them.
We are currently funding a war thousands of miles away because of borders drawn decades ago, a moderately different accent, borscht being white or red?... idk and idgaf.
Here in our own lands, we have as much difference between the South and everywhere else and literally everyone across this globe is not only allowed to celebrate their heritage, but Western Culture will outright fund it.... except for Dixie.

I don’t know. I’ve heard several New Yorkers and Californians here in the Nashville area complaining about having to live side by side with the backwards Tennessee hicks.
In the words of the late, great southern author and essayist Lewis Grizzard: "Delta is ready when you are."

April 9, 1865.
One of the saddest days in history.

I’ve always considered myself a Mississippian first, a southerner second, and a distant third is American
As I grew older I tried to block that from my mind and gravitate towards more of an American identity, but the last few years has led me to believe that was a mistake. So I’m increasingly feeling my ancestors calling me back to the motherland.

Same bro. Our grandparents knew what they were talking about. We are unique in this country and in this world. We should always celebrate that

Southern Culture in the south is largely dead. Most small towns in the south with a population of less than, say 20,000, are irredeemable dumps with stray dogs roaming, obesity, dollar generals, and yards filled with junk.
Southern culture is actually alive and well in the small towns of rural, northern Wisconsin. They hunt, fish, farm, drink, and still have enough civic pride to maintain public spaces and go to church. It’s like the South, just unburdened by what has been.

I believe to this day as the world crumbles, the land of Dixie will be the only beacon of hope and freedom for the world.
This is why the world wants them destroyed.

My mom found these two items at an antique store recently and got them for me. I was thrilled and will cherish them. The map book is something I’ve autistically studied for hours on several occasions.

Southern culture has always been anathema to American pop culture, which has historically been dominated by NYC and LA. Our culture is agrarian. Theirs is urban. Our culture is Protestant. Theirs is Catholic and Jewish. Our culture places the church as the center of the community. Theirs is the schoolhouse. Our culture wants to be left alone. Theirs wants all of the world to have a government identical to theirs, with zero regard to their customs and history.
Don't forget Jim Crow! I heard that was great!

The picture that you posted in an earlier post was of the 4th Alabama at 1st Manassas under General Bee.

I think you can argue the New Orleans area is more East Coast or Caribbean than Southern
