They have invaded several countries. Chechnya, Georgia and Ukraine twice and Putin wants more. Why do you think that the former Soviet satellite countries clamored to join NATO?

Agreed. Putin is an aggressive dictator. He is a world danger so he is our enemy. Having said that Trump is playing him properly. He is a very powerful person and giving respect to that power is the right way to handle him. When the war ends every honest intelligent person will agree that Trump played him masterfully.

Didn’t Putin want to join NATO early on and we told him no? Seems I read that somewhere

He also offered to aid the US in the fight against terrorism after 9/11 by allowing US troops on his soil.

Putin has become anti west because we wanted it that way. We couldn’t help ourselves.

Russia has become the sworn enemy of the West for no other reason than Trump derangement. Anyone who tells different is an obtuse moron.

That troll is too asinine to be taken seriously.

You’d be better off saying it’s because of….aliens.

In reality it is because of Putin
In reality, Putin was because of us. We had a window with true Russian democracy and Yeltsin. Unfortunately, Clinton was too distracted with Monica's "pizza deliveries" in the Oval Office's private study" to register a different moment of opportunity. Instead, he undercut Yeltsin, expanded NATO eastward and spawned Putin.

Dems can’t hide from clear, unambiguous history. The Obama Clinton State Department was laser focused on restoring diplomatic relations with Russia. They were even bearish on the perceived “Nazi” threat in Ukraine at the time. Remember when “the 80’s called and wanted their foreign policy back”? Remember “flexibility after the election”? Was Russia not moving on territories in Georgia and Crimea in those years? Were they somehow different than they are now?

The moment Hillary peddled the Steele dossier, and a Western puppet was installed in the Ukraine, was the moment the entire collective Globalist West did a bizarre about face on Russia.

Right. Putin is just an innocent victim of a campaign to frame him as a bad guy.

Because none of those countries are dictatorships now. Putin had his version of congress abolished term limits, and it’s been well documented that he jails or kills credible opposition (how do you think anyone gets 80-90% of the vote)?

So kind of like Biden using law fare to try and jail Trump. Or what Germany just did.

Well, because Russia’s economy is largely based in energy production and Russia is a major supplier of energy and our CIA cut their gas pipeline to Western Europe.

Oh, you meant why should WE hate THEM. Sorry.

Literally no one is saying that. But try as you may, you can’t hide from the duplicity of democrats on Russia. Was he less of a thug when Dems were fawning all over him and Medvedev? No.

What the right is saying is that they are ALL corrupt thugs and we need to make the best of a bad situation rather than fomenting war, emptying the treasury, and watching that money flow into the pockets of oligarchs and the MIC.

There are a lot of bad people in this world. Should we fund proxy wars with all of them?

No, they don’t.

And it doesn’t mean we have to like them or agree with how they run their country. We manage peaceful, albeit arms-length relationships with many awful, corrupt, and thuggish countries. Iran, Ukraine, China are examples.

Yes, we should. We’ve milked Ukraine and the Isruhl-Gaza spat as much as we can. I’ve got Paraguay next on my MIC card, and big money in the drone sector. I need another beach house.

You could register as a defense contractor and sell a ziplock bag of toenail clippings and bellybutton lint to the DOD for 48MM.

I already made millions on that $17,000 per square foot billion dollar Gaza pier that disintegrated after five weeks, so I’m good for a few more weeks.

Ok. I can see the point you are making. I wouldn’t try to become allies with Russia, because Putin is a murderous dictator.

But countries like India and China have been smart to take advantage of the situation and make deals that are profitable, regardless of morality.

It’s a more cold and cynical view of the world, but being dragged along with European ideology doesn’t necessarily make sense. If it just puts the US at a disadvantage.
