Education and healthcare are cheaper in developing countries. Their citizens travel to the United States to attend college and have major surgeries because the quality is so much higher.

So the gov't should tell businesses how much they can charge for a service?
Public Universities can be told.

How do you propose making college cheaper?

Innovation is expensive indeed.

no one said they had be free just make an effort to make them affordable
You will never make something affordable, if you demand that everyone should have access to it
Theres simply not even supply for that level of demand. Thats why colleges send out rejection letters, and ERs have lengthy wait times, In other industrialized nations, some die before they can even get an appt with a Dr
The avg visit time in the US with a Dr is 20 min. In the UK its less than 10. Because health care there is "free"

Because the America people won't accept what it takes to make them cheaper

Only a free market would allow for that.
The government is what is standing in the way of said market.

There is no "free' money. You can't make something valuable "affordable" by pumping more money into consumers hands. You just raise the price.

Maybe real free markets do, but not our markets.

I know Republicans are supposed to believe in less government involvement in our lives. Each day that passes I lose more and more faith in our entire system, so who knows.

There is no free market when the government is underwriting loans and giving grants. Each time the government increases one of these the prices go up. That’s not the free market, bub.

Outlaw government-backed student loans and school would get cheaper overnight. I suspect that isn’t what you had in mind.
Also all of the compliance demands from the Feds. It’s incredible how many chancellors/vice chancellors etc are now part of the top heavy administrations.

College isn't for everyone. For the retards going to college to get a low value degree which get's them a job that doesn't require a degree in retail or some other job out of their "field", making < 40K per year. They should have gone to trade school and work out of HS.
