But the media said Putin was getting shellacked. the Ukrainian army had routed Russian forces. I'm confused.

because those are NATO members
So that's the new criterion for determining if a country is worth defending?
Japan, S. Korea and Taiwan (if it's actually a country) aren't NATO members. Same thing with Western Hemisphere nations. So we don't come to their aid if they're attacked?

Man, frick this guy. He’s asking for us to get into a hot war with Russia to save his country from giving up separatist territories.
He basically told his massive neighbor to frick off by flirting with the west and NATO, and didn’t think there would be consequences.
He should have worked with Putin more and played the middle to save his arse and those of his people.

His world is ending, not mine.
And when mine ends, it won’t be due to anything Russia.

Don't worry! Biden to the rescue with more sanctions!

I’m just trying to picture in my mind what a modern invasion and occupation of a western country looks like. Like if the US was invaded. Do the invading soldiers just walk into the seats of local government and say “this is mine now!” and boom that’s it? If nola was invaded would soldiers physically remove Teedy and appoint themselves a new mayor?

He's the little dude with a big mouth that figures his friends will bail him out while he writes a check he can't cash.

I believe we have separate treaties with them

Zelensky is not to blame. Not one country in the world is to blame. Not one person in the world is to blame other than Vlad Putin and his cronies and yes men. Putin conjured up every grievance he claims to have in his head. Putin May be declining and losing his mental facilities just like Biden. The difference is folks have to remind Biden he has nuke codes where Putin wants to use them because he has snapped or he is taking some kind of steroidal medication that has gave him roid rage and he wants to nuke everyone for everything. Place the blame where it belongs.

It's not new, it's a legally binding contract.

Just because we don't have a legally binding contract in place doesn't mean we can't go to their defense.
But it might take an act of Congress.

Perhaps this is a sign that Ukraine's powers to resist are wearing thin.

I’m confused, Putin says Ukraine is full of Neo Nazis….shouldn’t the illegitimate Biden regime and every Dim be backing Putin?

Despite all the breathless "Ghost of Kiev" stories in the cheerleading Western press, Col. Douglas Macgregor had it right all along: Russia's slow but steady approach of gradually building bigger and bigger forces in the Ukraine will win the day
And the neocon Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin called him a Putin supporter on live tv for pointing out gleaned facts rather than emotional declarations.
She’s horrible as a reporter, committed as an ideologue, just like most “journalists.”

Only if it’s in our best interests, and like you wouldn’t for a second have trusted Trump to determine that question, we don’t trust that bunch of people in there now.
We have really shite politics in this country that allowed a Biden/Harris ticket to even be in the running much less sworn in.
