I've seen twitter rumors of that. would like to see something more than goal confirm it, but would be great.

I'm equally upset with Arsene for not resigning him and preventing this from happening! I guess my frustration will be erased or justified throughout the transfer window

There is no room for sentiment in arsene wengers transfer world, only cold Alsatian frugality. Why spend 33 million on cesc when you can spend 7 years turning free Gideon Zelalem into 75% of the player? It's obvious what the math favors.

That's just how the man operates. Been almost 20 years he's not gonna change now

This one really hurts because I'd imagine like most of you, he was the star of the team when I really became obsessed with Arsenal. I've been over him for a long time though, he had the world given to him at Arsenal and the team was built around him but he went to Barca. Funny thing is it didn't really work out at Barca but that lands him at Chelsea.

to recap, we gave Cesc to Barca at a ridiculously cut fee with a longer than normal payment plan to facilitate things and now he bails and we get nothing from this sale because they sold him for a paltry 26m. p. sweet.

cesc should do what's best for himself. i don't begrudge that. i can, however, choose to root against him from now on. our club got fricked over royally in his two transfers.

Everything about this is shite. Don't get money, and how the frick did they sell Mata for 40 fricking million? How did they get Cesc for so fricking cheap? This window better be amazing for Arsenal.

How the hell did we get nothing from this sale? I thought there was a clause that we got first right of refusal and then got some of the profits from that sale?

Well, at least your spanish star didn't go directly to Chelsea... see fernando torres... it's truly a heartbreaking sight to see them in that blue shirt..

edit: on a side note, he can fail miserably like torres... that softens the blow!

We should have bought him back and then let him sit on the bench.

Ugh. Let's hope he doesn't win anything at Chelsea.

I hope Wenger does something to redeem himself because this makes me angry. We had plenty of space for him, especially with how many games we play.

Chelsea are probably going to run away with the league now with Costa and Cesc. FML.

we didn't want him and the profits from the sale were for anything over 25ish mil pounds which apparently the price was right at that line. we might get a pittance, but we stood to get half of the profits above that line, i believe.

Honestly. Cesc is a World Class player and all but I really do prefer Ramsey and Wilshere.

It really sucks, don't get me wrong, but life goes on.

at this point in Cesc's career, it's more santi/rosicky/poldi/gnabry/ox/theo/giroud over cesc than rambo or wilshere.

but maybe jose will try and move him back deeper! that'd be fun.

if he didn't like mata, how the hell is he gonna play cesc? his defending is awful these days.

He moved because of his Chelsea DNA.
