frick I hate Mexico. I mean I’ve always hated Mexico but this is subhuman, there’s no way these two teams aren’t defunct in any other federation and The National side banned for 2 WC cycles.

Meh worse shite has probably happened elsewhere… I would ban Queretaro. I wouldn’t ban all of Mexico

Interesting point of view

Surprised this doesn't happen more often to be honest. At most Liga MX matches the crowds are blended. Yeah, they have dedicated areas for the away fans but almost all matches are mixed like sports here.

Ban all home international matches for 4 years. Remove rights to 2026 world cup. Completely dismantle Queretaro. Ban all ultra's domestically.
Basically, what happened to the EPL. Anything less is a disgrace.

Interesting outlets still aren't reporting any deaths but clearly the upper end of reports on Twitter are probably correct

Mexican outlets and the state government isn’t reporting deaths, but very reliable American and Mexican reporters are. I watched enough of the videos to tell you there were some dudes killed. You don’t get hit repeatedly in the head with a chair and lay there motionless if you are alive.
The rumor/theory is that if no deaths are reported in stadium the team can face less repercussions, so that’s why they haven’t reported any yet.

There's are pictures of a pipe of bodies I'm assuming we're found throughout the stadium. There were reported 10 outside the stadium as well. I'm assuming a few have died since then from injuries if not will die soon. I've never seen dead bodies beaten like that. Reminded me of black hawk down.

Thinking back, didn’t some Club America fans kill a Philly Union fan recently?
Yep.

It probably has, but that doesn’t make it ok. Mexico has had plenty time, money, and resources to develop much further as a country and their politicians have pocketed it. The only way to end shite like this is to start hitting the people in power in the pocketbook. Ban them from the WC and international competition for a little while.

Would be very hard pressed to think that something like that has happened in stadium before where one club’s fans targeted and beat to death nearly 2 dozen opposing fans. The Hillsborough disaster had a higher death tolls but that was an accident, this was purposeful, targeted murder.

Remember when the NFL had the first game in Mexico City and sports Twitter went wild wondering why the stadium had barbed wire in the stands? It's probably just a matter of time before they shank a player on the field.

Does anyone understand the beef between these two groups of fans? Why the bad blood to begin with?

I absolutely hate Mexico’s soccer team and this is an atrocious display by two terrible groups of people.
But you can’t ban Mexico’s national team for this. You can make those teams play without fans for the foreseeable future, but I didn’t see anything where the players had anything to do with this.

I went down the twitter rabbit hole and regret it. Absolute rabid animals

All English club teams were banned for 5 years from UEFA competitions after the Heysel Stadium disaster and that wasn't as bad as this. The Liverpool fans rushed the Juventus fans but nobody was beaten to death.

Not really. Atlas won the last championship after being shite forever. Queretaro is known for having an aggressive barra. No rivalry that I know of (Atlas rival is Chivas).
