Seth Vertelney @svertelney 11s On Ream, Berhalter says playing a high line and aerial ability aren't his strengths, which led to him not being called in #USMNT
Makes it even more surprising no McKenzie. Guy definitely brings speed and athleticism to the position.

I don’t mind Morris. He’s a workhorse and he is also a solid finisher
Between Morris and Arriola I probably prefer Morris. I don’t think Arriola has the physique to not get bodied by defenders at the international level, at least at a level higher than concacaf.

TRuSt tHe SyStEM!!! We all knew how moronic Gregggg could be, but at least we have it in black and white.
That moron’s system won two trophies, had more success against Mexico than I’ve seen in my life time, and qualified for a WC with a super inexperienced team, by far the youngest to qualify for this WC out of the 32 teams. Yeah, I’m not thrilled with some of the choices (namely Pefok) but you can’t argue that it hasn’t produced results.

Pefok as starter has definitely affected the pace of the attack, yes. (Watch the Canada match again) I think his role should be what it was the one time he scored a USMNT goal. 65th or 75th minute sub when we are chasing a goal. There's value to that, but I can also see an argument to be made for the other three strikers brought in over him.
Yea I agree with this completely. When there are 25 minutes left against Iran and we need a goal to get out of the group, I would much rather see Pefok entering that scrum than Pepi or Sargent.
That’s a game with an arse ugly final flourish and I trust Pefok to muscle his way onto one halfway decent chance. Yea he probably flubs it but Pepi/Sargent will be ghosts in that scenario.

I'll be honest, I thought for sure he'd get a look this camp.
He has been really good for Genk this season and Gregg was calling him into camps even when he wasn't playing last year. With Miles out, I thought there was a better chance he'd get called in than Ream. But it appears Gregg has his mind made up on CB's. Both have been shaky, but I'd take McKenzie over Long. Athleticism is about the same, but I trust McKenzie on the ball more, despite his mistake against Mexico.

It's funny how much you hate me.

Meh, Pepi is good in the air when he is right.
We saw that in Honduras.
The question though is if he is right?
Feels like a gamble with how bad he has been the last year, but I also do see why Gregg thinks he can unlock that form from Pepi again.

I appreciated it
They both give verticality but I think I take Morris for finishing and physicality.

Sounds like GGG isn't out on Pefok just yet, wants to give Pepi a shot to earn it #USMNT

Weah for morris
Id actually bring ream over long
Jedi for cannon
Everything else looks good
I would like to see pefok there but I understand. He’s be a great addition plus 66 minutes when you need a goal

I mean pefok doesn’t get to earn his spot either?

I've learned here not to question the system.

So what should the system be?

full-on Jurgen-ball and putting out an XI with a bunch of square pegs in round holes, and being verticalitynessibilityationalismitycal

So you can’t have a serious discussion?

I can’t remember a single good game Ream has played for the US.

Let's just hope Pulisic and Reyna stay healthy. Outside of those two, I haven't been overly impressed with the rest of the forwards when it comes to creating and finish goal scoring opportunities. Pepi showed promise for a few games last fall...

I think you confuse discussion with being eristic. Interacting with someone of that general disposition is wearisome. Discussion is meant to be charitable, but an online forum personality such as yourself seems evidentially not meant for recreation as I mean it to be.
