I think it’s been pretty good so far

Three of the last four games to ended 0-0 with the one game in-between being a 4-1 blowout.

Welcome to international soccer

Especially the opening games where unless someone scores early the teams will play conservative

The last WC had ONE 0-0 game out of 64.

That was also a record for a World Cup and is an outlier.

Yeah and the argument that this tournament doesn't suck is completely falling apart with each game now

I guess this is what we should expect when the first goal of the tournament is taken away over a ridiculous overturned call.

Yeah, it’s upsetting they aren’t displaying the rich history of Qatar. Maybe displaying some beheadings or women suffering would put some color on to the wonderful country.

They always show the sped up version of the stadiums being erected but the regular speed slave labor building scenes would add some much needed flair

If you were expecting anything beyond a shite show based on it's being awarded to Qatar in the first place then that's on you.

From multiple videos I’ve seen on Twitter, the fans in Qatar are having a good time.

Those English lads who were looking for beers and found that Qatari millionaire and played with his pet lion cub and put it all on Twitter and Snapchat sure had a good time.

It just took Jenny Taft until Day 4 to realize she's at the World Cup. Confirms how underwhelming it's been.

It’s not the product on the field. It’s the utter lack of energy of everything surrounding them. But there is that really cool countdown thing they do... God bless deuce but he’s not much of a studio personality. Lalas seems like he used to be better than he is now. Landycakes should’ve stayed in Mexico after that one commercial.

Agreed. Brazil in 2014 felt like a massive nationwide festival.

This tournament feels like it came out of a can.

After the whistle blows it dumps you straight into skip and Shannon after the morning game, local news after the middle game and judge Judy after the last game.

But even the studio analysis is a loooooooooong way from premier league mornings. Shout out to Timmy though he has gotten better.

Huh?

The first two games are back to back on FS1 and then the prematch show for the 10am and 1pm games start on Fox immediately after the the second game.

Watching the fox sports app on my TV it did go straight to Shannon and skip. I didn’t have this same issue watching through the app on Apple TV.

Idk if y’all mentioned this already

But anyone notice the 25-30% of empty seats just about every game? The stadiums are already smaller than usual. I don’t ever remember seeing this many empty seats before.

This tournament is still nationwide.

The problem is, the nation is only wide enough for one city.

And Qatar doesn't "festival".

Good comparison would be a Superbowl in Houston or Atlanta vs a Superbowl in NOLA.

The first two just kind of host a sporting event. NOLA hosts a party around a sporting event.

Hopefully the fallout from this WC leads to beneficial changes to FIFA and how it's run. It's a distant hope, and most likely a false one. But we can hope.
