I, as well as most of the OT, calls this trash.

Had a great time. Work has been stressful and this was the best get away I’ve had in a long time. 5 day cruise out of Galveston so cheap and easy. No cell phone service and relaxation. Didn’t even care about the one destination (Cozumel).

The food was terrible but lots of activities. Basically a mindless getaway with no obligations. Some karaoke, trivia, dance classes, etc. Got up every morning and ran on the track looking over the horizon.

Anyone who bags on cruises hasn’t relaxed. Best time I’ve had in a while.

Which line/ship?

I thought carnival was a good time and I loved the food outside of their “upscale” restaurant.

If you can’t have a good time with the drinks package simply sitting back by the pool and people watching /dollar betting stupid shite with your friends then idk what to tell you.

You had the perfect attitude to have a fun cruise.

Cruises are a blast (especially if you’re wrangling a large group) and a completely mindless getaway.

No planning, no trying to pick a restaurant or make reservations, no taxis or Ubers or driving, activities for every age limit.

Everything will be mediocre, but it will be fun if let it be fun.

Now I know why that one guy couldn’t find a Grimace shake. The guy who is in charge of the shake machine has been dicking around on a boat.

The fact that you want phone service tells me you aren't in demand.

Short cruises attract a lower level of clientele. NOLA also has a much lower standard than Galveston. With that being said there is nothing wrong with a 7 day cruise. I know all of the O-T wants to spend all their money on Orange Beach / 30A, packed in like cattle (yes I felt more cramped in OB/Destin than in a large cruise ship). The food is pretty good on the cruise lines and equals what you will get on the beach towns, WITHOUT the 2 hour wait. It's what you make of it. I prefer the cruise to a week long stay at one place on the gulf coast. No buying a household full of food, cooking for the family 3 times a day, and CLEANING every day. Don't sell a cruise short if you haven't been on one of the nice ships.

Wife booked a seven day one for next year over my objections. I’m apprehensive about how shitty it’s going to be but hoping for the best.

Relax, you will have a blast. No timelines, unless you are doing excursions, and you let everyone else do the work. What ports are y'all going to ?

I've never been so bored in my life as the few times I've gone on a cruise. The "entertainment" is made for goddamn idiots.

And when did this alleged cruise take place because you're riding at least a 4-day posting streak?
