Universal just eliminated all its mask requirements this past week
You still have to wear it while in line.
Yet, they aren't filling the rides even though you can be elbow to elbow with strangers. Seems odd. It's causing wait times to be long when they could alleviate that.

Not at Universal. That policy was eliminated last week.

I was just there. You have to wear it in line.
Eta... you can call and ask. I was there last week after they eliminated the mandate.

rumor is that the Disney folks can’t believe that people were willing to pay the same or more for less services and are going to push the envelope with more up charges. For example, Fastpasses might never come back and could be replaced by a Lightning Pass that would cost $100-$300 per person per day.
Fastpass+ was a billion dollar disaster that Disney refused to give up on just to save face. Covid was the perfect out for them. Don't expect FP+ to return like it was. You will now see a combination of FP+ with a paid option along with virtual ques on all new attractions.

My wife and kids were there from Thu-Sun. They had to wear them Thu and Fri but not Sat & Sun.

What parks were they in sat/sun?
Eta....I see that those that are vaccinated don't have to wear a mask as of last Saturday. Anyone that isn't still needs to although they aren't asking for proof.
So, the masks haven't been completely done away with, as you implied, according to the google machine.

Disney is also going to stick with the park reservation system where you buy a park ticket but then you have to go online and pick which park you’ll go to on each day. You can hop to another park after 1:00 or 2:00pm (don’t remember which) if the destination park has enough capacity. Currently, it looks like parks are hitting capacity issues approximately 60 days out. That makes sense because dining reservations open 60 days out now and I guess people are doing them all at once.

My advice is to don’t ever dare go to WDW during a holiday time

Do you think that part of the problem is the pent up demand
That is probably some of it. I think the biggest problem is they haven't hired back everyone to open all the facilities. No shows running, many restaurants/quick service and snack carts closed, and limited capacity in stores results in more people milling about our getting on rides.

We were there last week and I didn’t find any of the rules too intrusive. We only had a few cast members give us shite about our 3yr old not wearing his in a line.
The biggest pain the arse was the food. A lot is still closed and the stuff that is open had long lines. After we saw how it was going to go the first day we made a Walmart delivery order for some snacks and breakfast stuff and used Uber Eats for most of our dinners. It was much easier and we ate much better food.

Did you use mobile food order?
Posted on 6/2/21 at 12:11 pm to SallyWheeler
We used mobile order. It was o.k. at first, but got old quick. I missed just walking up and everyone ordering what they wanted.
We typically mobile ordered 30 minutes prior to getting there and waited 5-20 minutes for the food to be ready. Most of the quick service were doing only mobile order.

We really wanted to have children, but the fear that they would one day want to go to Disney made us decide against it.

If you can't find something to do and have fun at Walt Disney World resort you are a miserable person. It's just that simple.
Posted on 6/12/21 at 1:13 pm to LSUfan4444
I had a blast. Who said I was miserable? The crews being anal about the masks made the experience less likeable. Stop making assumptions, it's just that simple.

Thank God they did away with the masks except on transportation. Supposed to wear them if you aren’t vaccinated but they won’t verify. Yay!
Also, there was an update to the Disney app that implies they will implement some sort of priority pass system but no word on that yet.

You did. With your title. Normally, Nazis are not thought of as providing their prisoners with a great time.

Creates a thread bitching about the rules that were clearly laid out at a place that sucks to begin with, then comes back to seem shocked that people think he didn’t enjoy himself.
