Why? Florida and Ole Miss are offering him similar deals. Of course LSU has to meet a number but based on words out of his mouth, he highly values the lsu job
Still about the money. He wouldn’t take LSU for less.

IF true instead of using more money to raise standards at the actual university we will continue to guarantee more and more as we move from the Bluto to Neadermeyer to now Otter versions of head coaches. Guaranteed to have to pay a large buy out again.
Maybe not all the money, but it subtracts from what these people will give to academics.
All the white alumni will cheer thinking LSU is saved while continuing to ignore that the university makes up for not getting enough money by bringing more and more poor trash on federal grant money with extremely inflated GPAs.
The new guys can’t change anything for the fall of 2026 and probably won’t change anything. White undergraduate students will become a plurality by fall of 2027 or maybe fall of 2028 unless DEI admissions and the DEI scholarships with inflated GPAs due to not requiring ACT/SAT scores along with the extreme push for Pell grant students aren’t all completely reversed quickly.
Good luck with more shootings on campus during Kiffin’s grift of LSU.

So Kiffin is coaching in the playoffs or just bolting after the Egg Bowl?

It reads like what it is.. just an offer. Ole Miss has had an offer on his desk for over a month. I'm sure UF has an offer, too. Real question is: who's does he sign?

When the other offers are leaked we can judge that

25-30 million includes rev share per Wilson Alexander. Surprised it’s not more. No way Ole Piss and Florida didn’t match that.

Correct. It also said 25+

The two have nothing to do with one another except for the fact that a successful football program elevates the entire university. Personally, I’m not going to complain about how rich donors spend their own money. If they want to support academics, they will.

It’s not even about the money. Kiffin covets the LSU job, simple as that.
I’d have to imagine that part of Kiffin resents the fact that Ed O won a title and he hasn’t. He knows Ed very well and I’m sure believes he is a much better head coach than O. Lane probably believes that if Ed can win a title here, he definitely should be able to.
