Ah Mr nick Saban is our plan b guy

People make jokes but the Saban smoke was real. LSU 100% reached out and sexton/he 100% talked and it wasn’t easily dismissed.

Maybe not all the money, but it subtracts from what these people will give to academics.

A winning football team generates 10’s of millions for the university and local economy each year. It has a tremendous effect.

See Bama as a reference

quote:

According to sports investment personality Joe Pompliano, Alabama paid Saban roughly $130 million over 16 seasons.
“But you could argue he was worth more than $1 billion,” Pompliano said.

quote:

Since 2007, the University of Alabama’s enrollment has increased from 25,000 students to almost 40,000 students, up 60%

quote:

During that time, Alabama also went from having a majority of its student body consisting of in-state students to out-of-state making up the majority.
That translates into dollars, as in 2023, tuition was $11,900 for in-state students and $32,260 for out-of-state students.

quote:

Median home prices in Tuscaloosa have risen from $172,000 in 2007 to $259,900 last year. Tuscaloosa’s population has grown by about 11,000 since Saban’s arrival, according to census figures.

I thought several people were saying $30M and that number was probably still low.

That was the number including revenue sharing.

When there is ink on the contract, can you give us an idea of how you became privy to the info?

If we get Kiffin across the finish line, I will be convinced a lot of it had to do with Saban.

Considering the smoke around us contacting him early on, Verge admitting he has had regular standing phone calls with Saban for years, and Saban's wife referring to Kirby and Lane as their "babies", I can't help but assume Saban spoke with Kiffin about the job.

Kiffin could be Saban's final recruit and parting gift to LSU.

Her literally told Kiffin to stay where he was. He wasn’t referring to the LSU job.

He knew Kiffin was the next call. This is my conjecture, not any kind of inside knowledge, FYI.

Ok. Conjecture sure. Not sure I follow. So are you saying that Saban told Kiffin to stay at ole miss?

Or are you saying that Saban knew LSU was calling Lane after Saban turned down LSU?

That's not some shocking revelation. Earlier in the week it was said 25-30 million annually with the possibility of it going higher if Kiffin proves he can win. The boosters would be happy to put more into the pot. That was mentioned that several times.

Way I interpreted what was said is bigger 30 million+ rosters in win it years where you know you have a good roster to up the pot money going all in. So probably every few years maybe a 30-40 million roster inflation not factored in.

Clearly we didn’t learn from the other $100mm mistake we made and haven’t even paid for yet

In hindsight, Kelly couldve paid LSU a $100M and it would still be a mistake. The money had nothing to do with it and is irrelevant to the conversation.

If Kelly had gone 10-2 all four of his years, no one is even mentioning the contract.

There is nothing that pushes me further away from gaf about LSU and makes me want to move out of Louisiana than watching the shite cocktail of Louisiana politicians, coaches, and massive amounts of money that we throw at people who we fire and pay a staggering amount of money to for years, just to turn around and do it again, and watch people celebrate it while everything else about Louisiana ranks dead last in the nation in every shite category. Ranked number one in political corruption also. Geaux Tigers

Because of the seats stay half empty it will cost them more than the contract. There's a reason why LSU is going All in

Florida’s confidence is coming from nothing other than the hope that the LSU leak is bad for them. Even though the same thing got leaked for them an hour later

One way or another, he is not coming back to Ole Miss. He burned that bridge today. Multiple big boosters have already told Carter they aren’t going to honor their NIL commitments if he is still our coach.

Who is we? Why do you care what some billionaires spend on a football coach? It costs you nothing. You talk like this is a Louisiana thing but this goes on nationwide. Get a grip.
