Kiffin Sees This Clearer Than Fans

Mississippi is NOT his destination job. If so he’d have quickly quelled any talks of this nature happening during a probable playoff run.
So if not now, when?
If LSU or Florida (or Alabama?) is, will the stars ever align like they have this season? Can’t predict that.
He didn’t create the calendar, and Ole Miss fans are on the verge of having a giant case of Jilted Lover’s Syndrome.
As another poster properly pointed out, if Kiffin does wind up at LSU the Tigers will finally have their RIVAL.

The only fact is that LSU is currently his best offer.
From a recent success standpoint, from a program standpoint. Period.

I'll be happy when kiffin either signs with us or somebody else. That way we can either be happy or move on. Saturday. Couldn't get here fast enough

Kiffin is a serial chaser and will pursue whatever the next shiny thing is when it becomes apparent to him.

The amount of vitriol OM fans will feel toward Kiffin seeing him on LSUs sideline next year at Vaught is going to be pungent

I have prepared myself for the introduction of Frank Wilson as the new LSU HC. The hiring committee will site an extensive and thorough process.... added by a tremendous vetting process of potential candidates.
Set the bar extremely low and the disappointment level is a walk in the park.

Yeah this is going to be deep, deeeeeep hate. And the fact that we'll be laughing at them for years over it will just make it worse. But they won't be beating us any time soon so I'm not sure we will look on them with anything like the hate they'll have for us.
I almost feel bad for them.

I swear, some of you need remedial negotiating lessons. Why would he say that and give up all leverage for a huge raise and more NIL money?

That’s more myth or exaggeration than fact but you’re ignorant.

OM created this drama. LSU and UF were in the situation that they had to wait on Kiffin to negotiate and if that was after the playoffs then so be it if we were willing to wait that long. But OM realizing that they were going to get left at the Prom with no ride home after the playoffs demanded the coach that they already have on contract sign their new contract or else.
If they had left him alone he might have taken an offer from outside and he may have waited until after the playoffs, or he may have made a deep run and decided to stay but that was not the option they chose.

OM rolled dice with Lane and lost. At the time, he was a risky hire. I think we are rolling too, but we are more of a destination job and if he wins a couple of SECCs and a couple of NCs, he's going to be here a long time. Saban rode that horse over 15 years, Lane will do the same.
