Its been bubbling over. Have you not seen any of the sentiment from the Ole Miss faithful inside of the program? The Governor called Lane out recently.
Not to mention there being reports that practice has been rough
Something has to give here soon one way or another

But what if they(Ole Miss and Kiffin) come to an agreement behind close doors but nothing is officially announced until after the last game of regular season. That way Ole Miss can officially start a search for new coach and Kiffin can coach his team one last game.

I mean it’s possible yeah. Just seems kind of pointless to do all of that for the Egg Bowl against a mid Moo State team with a guy that’s going to leave right after it anyway. If anything you’d want to slide the interim in beforehand to get everything acclimated prior to a playoff run IMO

If he does leave, that’s putting OM in a bad situation. Other teams have been talking to potentials for 2+ weeks already so they get a head start.

if you see florida hire a coach before we hear anything from our end than you know he will announce after the season . it will be obvious what's going on pretty soon whether its official or not

Makes the most sense to me

Nope. I can hear Herbstreit now…”What a run this is by Kiffin, who is gonna be LSU’s head coach next year, and the Ole Miss Rebels”. I really don’t see the Ole Miss hierarchy standing for that.

$30 million for the roster is how you keep recruits

IF this is true, i hope it’s limited to finishing the regular season and not playoffs. We”d also want it in writing w a financial penalty if he backs out.

He's not leaving the school where he's said its his dream job to be. His alma mater. Stop with this lazy take of him coming to LSU.

Part of me thinks he is going to LSU or UF and had plans to try and stay at OM to coach through the playoffs.
It’s why you are seeing the tweets and the over commitment to OM.
I do think OM will try and force his hand before then to ensure they aren’t 8th fiddle in the coaching search.

The ole may or may not

Won't happen. Lane is either staying or going and it'll be announced at the latest after the egg bowl next week.

So if you’re LSU why would you want your new hire head coach potentially win a NC for an SEC rival who shares a border with you. Sure would look good for potential recruits to go to OM fresh off a championship.

He's losing his QB to the portal because ASU not paying market value and he's having to beg local businesses to ante up for NIL money. I'd say his Alma Mater is not giving him what he needs to be successful.

LSU is giving him that option…I doubt ole miss will allow it though

Honestly think this is what will happen. Kiffin is going to be your coach two days after Egg Bowl
I disagree.
I think if OM wins the Egg Bowl you can effectively cross Kiffin off the list. That win would lock up a spot in the CFP. He's not leaving his team just before the CFP and LSU isn't going to wait around until, at the earliest, mid-December, and very possibly longer, to hire a coach. As others have mentioned, any agreement to join LSU after OM's season ends would have to have some sort of binding effect. LSU's would be ridiculously stupid to wait around based on a "handshake" deal that could change at any moment. And there's zero way such an agreement wouldn't leak. Even then, a MOU is not a contract.
Sometime the timing just doesn't work. This may be one of those instances. Either way, Kiffin will be fine. He'll leverage the LSU and Florida openings into the highest annual salary in the sport. Hell, it's entirely possible that is all this is from the get go. Outside of a few interviews, which Kiffin enjoys, he really hasn't been burdened by any of this.

Are you sure or are you just assuming? Because they were just in the CFB playoffs and still top-25. Sounds like its all assumption on your part.
