There is zero chance LSU should allow him to coach Ole Miss through the playoffs

LSU will tell him that yes he can coach in the playoff knowing full well that Ole Miss will never let him.

We look accommodating and patient, they become the scapegoat

Yeah, he slipped there.
I think it was said with purpose. I think he's as tired of it as the fans are. He just wanted to finish the regular season.

Good catch. I watched and it didn’t ring a bell. That says a LOT

It actually has a lot to do with LSU. If they don’t try to hire him there’s no decision to be made regarding Kiffin coaching the playoffs

He was just trolling, as they say.

The premise of this thread is fake news folks

He was asked in the context of him taking another job

He’d probably make a joke at the absurdity of the question if he weren’t leaving.

He did but, IIRC, the question was if he was to take another job would he coach the playoffs not if he would be coaching them at all.

You are correct. However, and like others have pointed out repeatedly he could have/can end all of this with a simple “I’m not going anywhere so there is no need to answer that”. But he hasn’t and he didn’t which is still pretty compelling for the side of the argument that favors “he gone”.

The question was, “IF you leave, will you be coaching the playoffs?” Nothing to see here.

The question was not, “Will you be coaching the playoffs?” There was an obvious disclaimer.

Are you really that thickheaded? She meant it's not LSU who is having the problem with Lane coaching Ole Miss in the playoffs.

Ole Miss is saying no, and frankly I'd do the same.

Actually he means it's ole miss decision

But it's not their decision by default. He's the coach under contract, and if he does nothing, he's still the coach. The only way it's "not his decision" is if he's planning to not be the coach.

Ole Miss is forcing him to make a decision. It sucks for Lane, but the timeline is better for LSU. The sooner he gets here the better.

One does not merely ask “who is Kiffen trolling.” It’s a good bit more complex than that. It’s layered. He trolls multiple parties simultaneously, at different frequencies, for different lengths. It’s not for the faint of heart.

I’m just sharing what I’ve picked up on here amongst ourselves.

I understand your point, but I don’t see it working out. Both LSU and Ole Miss would have to agree to let Lane finish the season and at the same time be announced as LSU’s coach. I don’t see that happening. That’s why Lane basically said he has a choice to make.

He could have deflected and said something like not going there, just going to focus on my sons game tonight, so many other possible ways to answer that question without saying “not my decision”

He said it during the post game press conference. Near the end I think.

Nah I wanna see him take his boys as far as possible. Most of them will be LSU players next year anyway lol
