“I think I've already made a reaction to that,” he said. “Don't you watch ESPN? Don't you see what they put down across the bottom line? That's my reaction to it. I don't have any more reactions to it. I think it's kind of over, so why do we want to talk about that? Can we look forward? I'm looking forward. I made a commitment to the players that are here, and I'm happy to be committed to them. And I want them to make the same kind of commitment to the program and their future success.” Nick Saban on Texas rumors again.

"I guess I have to say it," Saban said. "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach."

Good God. People wonder why LSU fans have a bad rep sometimes. He ducked and dodged that question for a week and then finally said something like, "If you want me to say it then I guess I have to say it. I'm not going to be the Alabama coach." Context. Situational differences. That was 8 years ago. EIGHT.

'll just say Les Miles said what he had to say in one sentence about UT rumors. and that was it.

Let's be real with ourselves, here. No one really ever thought Les was a legit candidate for that job. Him saying what he said was like me saying the same thing. We both have the same odds of becoming the Texas HC.

Les also had one statement about not speaking to LSU and staying at OSU 9 days before he first donned the P&G.

Then why did he make all the quotes about "finishing my career at the university of alabama", "tuscaloosa has become home for us", etc? It's time we let it go. He's likely going to retire at Bama. Move on.

You do realize this is the same dude who became openly irritated that the reporters wouldn't just let the "Saban to Bama" story go?

That he considered the matter settled at "I will not be the coach at Alabama," a position he held right up to him signing the contract.

He treated the reporters with open disdain for keeping at it.

Someone got killed over the iron bowl. A kicker got death threats. They destroy monuments and force their genetalia on people's faces. If Saban leaves, what do you think they'd do to him. Give it up already.

The decomits are starting to make sense if the kids have been talking to current Bama players who know something's up. You can't keep something like this completely under wraps.

1. What decomits are you talking about?

2. What schools have they selected instead?

Provide a link

Ok, Google is my friend and I found this

LINK Hootie never signed a letter of intent from what I can tell, all verbal - nobody can be sure of what a kid will do till the fat lady sings in February I think

LINK - This guy just sounds Home Sick already and decided to stay.

So I don't see anything here that supports change of heart due to speculation of Saban going to UT

I'm not even a big LM fan but this is about dumbest statement I've read on this site.

Criticize Lester all you want but I'd bet 2 bucks and my right nut that you won't earn his one year salary in 20 years. He might not be the most cutting edge coach out there but he's a legitimate plan C or D for a UT level position. Many would argue he'd be higher rated than that.

Doesn't that reinforce the commonly held belief that what a coach says when he's being considered for another job is unreliable? Just like what Saban is doing now.....

Those two questions are at odds. First you act incredulous about there being any decommits, which there are, then you want to know where they have chosen to otherwise go.

A kid who decommits from one school rarely decides he wants to actually go to the school he decommited from.

There's an entire board (two boards, really) dedicated to recruiting.

Saban wants to eliminate Bama as a threat. The longer he wants the more in a bind Bama will be to find a suitable replacement. Man Saban, you Machiavellian mastermind, well played.

You think? Kind of? Hmmmm

Committed to the players that are here. What about the recruits? Hmmm

And love how he points us to espn for the official story. I'm starting to smell more smoke here.
