I mean when you’re making the money that these guys are making it’s not like they’re living in the slums or he’d be in North BR. BR may be a shithole but it’s not like he’s going to be experiencing it all that much.

Recruiting is much easier in Louisiana. The right coach can pretty much lock down the state. In Florida you're competing against Miami and FSU right off the bat.

Gainesville isn’t great but BR is so much more of a shithole it isn’t remotely similar

BR is a legit top crime infested city period, much less compared to other college towns

Have you been to Gainesville? I can't speak to the crime there, but the city itself is ugly as frick and hotter than Hades. At least BR has some truly beautiful neighborhoods. I never saw that during my time visiting Gainesville. I used to spend summers there with my grandparents.

I nominate this as the dumbest post of 2025 so far. We have two more months to go.

The best coach UF could get four years ago was from University of Louisiana Lafayette. While LSU got ND’s coach.

What makes you think UF is any more attractive of a job now?

I would put LSU and Florida on equal footing. Florida went after the popular “up and comer”. I doubt Stricklin realized he could go after an established coach. Much less wanted to.

LSU can lock down every school in Louisiana, but the caliber of players are beneath the big 3 states:

1a - Florida
1b - Texas
1c - California

Louisiana's caliber of athlete is excellent. The sheer number is just much lower because of obvious reasons, the population density.

If LSU locks down Louisiana they'll be a top 10 team every year, but yeah they'll still need to pluck a few from TX and Florida which hasn't been an issue for any coach here.
