Psaki correcting the record on WW2 history….

Guys, we’ve been wrong this whole time.
When asked why Americans should care about the Ukraine, she claimed that it was about not letting countries invade other countries, which was a value we established back in WW2.
Yall remember when we jumped into the war from day one, the day Hitler invaded Poland? Oh yall dont? Yall thought we minded our own fricking business for 2 years until a country literally attacked us? Well thats cause you are dumb. It was DEM VALUES babyyyyyyyy.

The fact that she could make such demonstrably false statement of fact about one of the most pivotal events in world/US history and not one journalist was capable of pushing back because they were literally bamboozeled by a Hallmark card worthy platitude about values….

I think she’s saying that “since WWII” America has set a principle of not sitting back and letting countries invade other countries like we did with Poland. It is sort of bolstered by America’s stance as the muscle behind NATO’s Article 5 commitment.
Not saying that we should come to the military aid of Ukraine, but it doesn’t take an especially charitable interpretation of Psaki’s comment to understand what she means.
Edit: It’s also a point bolstered by the actions taken in Korea, Vietnam, and Kuwait. Again, not siding with it as a principle we should abide by. But the past 70 years has shown the US jumping in to deter invasions.

You’re going to get absolutely destroyed for saying that, but I guess I will too because I feel the exact same way. That’s how I interpret what she said as well. Then again, I don’t let the fact that she’s opposite me politically determine each of my interpretations of her statements. Anyone who sees what she said and thinks she said that we got into WWII to prevent the invasion of other countries is eaten up with stupid.
