Not my favorite per se, but it can be a booger if you let it get in your head.

#18 at Greystone

Tee Shot requires a slight draw to get the most out of your driver distance and avoid splashing into the small creek that splits the fairway. Warning it is reachable for big hitters....so scale back a bit. From Gold anything under 250 is safe, but 230 is ideal.

The second shot is the one that will mess with you, as it is an optical illusion. You are going to think you have a small landing area, but it really opens up into the second landing area. You are going to want to hit a 200 yd club. Aim for the trees and draw it once again ever so slightly. If you are lucky you may even catch one of the slopes on the right side of the fairway and get some extar roll.

You should have a fairly level lie and be looking at a short iron into a bean shaped green. Take a little extra club and choke down some. Smooth swing should get you home, taking the water and front bunker out of the way. The pin is unlikely to be to the right as this is a problem area of the green that I think they are going to just reshape to make the green smaller. If the flag is in the back left corner go for it. You want to be up on that top shelf. Putting from below it is a bitch. Otherwise, if in the middle, then err to the left to avoid a slippery downhill putt.

Two putt for par and head to the clubhouse.

Greystone 18 takes driver out of my hand. That’s just a stupid design for a par 5. A good par 5 should give you an opportunity to try to make a 3

Key is timing the rotation of the windmill, get that down and the rest is dead straight.

Some people can carry the creek when it’s downwind.

I agree some can and I can maybe 4 out of 20 drives from my normal tees, but the risk is too much. Then 3W is still kinda too much club to chance the creek. It’s really stupid to pull put a hybrid on a par 5 tee box. Now hole 9 is one of my favorite par 5s. Wide open off the tee and then you have to make a decision.

Terrible golf hole, but somehow not the worst par 5 on the course

Hit drive 220 to light rough. Hit fat 6i to 20 yards short of the green. Blade pitch over green. Pitch back to fringe short. "Putt" to 6'. Two putt.

#6 @University Club. Hit driver 280yds to just right of left fairway bunkers, 2H to green, hopefully 2 putt for birdie…

# 18 at Greatwood Golf Course.

Blue tees, Par 5

Clubs Needed : A 9.5* Titleist 975D Driver / EI70 Shaft and a original Adam's Ties Lies 16.5* along with a original Odyssey Rosdie 1 putter.

You will need to challange the O.B. right and hit a high draw that curves back to the right center of the fairway and hits the sprinkler head that says "No Way".

After hitting that sprinkler head, it will bounce forward to the sprinkler head that's say "Use Your Cannon".

From there, hit the Tight Lies 16.5* dead center perfect and watch the ball gently land on the 3 quartered island green.

Catch your breath, pull the Rossie back while playing a 8 inch break.

Watch the ball roll and tumble into the hole for a eagle.

Take joy in this accomplishment.

Because after 25 years later, you have never be able to replicate this feat again.

But it was glorious...

Fill in the pond on the right side of the fairway (and crossing the fairway) and it would be a VERY good hole. 18 at Greystone is terrible as is. 4 is as well.

Course conditions have improved a TON though.

It's a 3w, 3w, wedge kinda hole. You just have to be really proficient hitting a 3w.

That’s exactly how I play the hole, which is a joke for a par 5. That second 3w is to a narrowing fairway. Another reason the hole sucks

The second shot is easy. People done realize how much room is left. It only narrows close to 100 yards out. No reason to be that close when you’re laying up anyway.

Hit your best drive of the day right down the fairway. Avoid the geese as you drive up. Not be able to find your ball. Tell your buddy for the 2nd time that day you’re never playing this course again.
