No, and I'm still pissed about it 2 years later.

My '21 does not. Fortunately, I had pretty much given up on CDs before that. I moved everything to a portable hard drive and then kept essential tracks on my phone. between that, XM and Youtube Music, I have enough options to keep me happy.

I had one of those 300+ CD binders in my 04 Civic until the day it died.

Got a 2016 Civic and didn't even realize until after driving off the lot that it didn't have a CD player. None of my cars have since then.

I don't like Spotify via phone, etc, in cars I think it's interface is dangerous. Apple Carplay with music is safer and you can tell Siri what to play so that's what I've been doing. Still prefer CDs but oh well.

Just got a ‘22 Ford Edge company car. Nice upgrade from the ‘18 Escape which had a player but Edge does not. Auto mfgs are killing CD’s like Biden is killing oil.

Huge difference there. Everyone uses oil. Very few still use CDs. And the auto industry had nothing to do with that. If anything, they are usually late to the game in phasing out unused formats. My 2001 Chevy car had a tape player and no cd player that came with it.

I think that you missed the point that it was a joke.

I think that auto manufacturers stopped including cd's in cars sometime in 2018-2019, which really sucks by the way.

My 2011 car has an integrated 6 disc cd changer which I love, my other car is 2017 model and it has only one cd deck.

The cd has the best sound of any technology out there. I remember reading (not sure if it was here), that satellite music is a compressed format and therefore its sound is not the best.

Not IMO, WAV format on a hard drive sounds better to me. But that'll eat up most of your memory. When I save MP3, I try to have a 320 bit rate as opposed to the average 128

I don't think they can still be killing what has been dead for over a decade.

CSB time…

My late mom was a teenager in West Point during WWII where my grandfather was an instructor. One of the few stories she would tell me was when she went on a picnic date with a cadet. When they reached their destination, he said “ Would you like to hear some music? She said, sure, but I didn’t think your car had a radio? He opened up the massive glovebox and slid out a small Victrola motor, which he had removed from its original chassis, and placed on a tray attached to the door of the glove box. He pulled the platter out from under the seat, attached a handle and gave the motor a few cranks, then put on a Glenn Miller 78 and lowered the tone arm, as the music came out of a set of speakers he had built into the back deck.

Essentially, she went out with the guy who invented the car stereo. She didn’t think he ever got credit for it, though. Plus she thought he was nuts

no offense but you'll spend way more trying to reconfigure your head unit than you would on a $10/mo Spotify subscription plus you'll hurt resell value unless you keep all the parts to swap the oem unit back in.

Why not give it a chance?

Personally I don't care for streaming services because they don't curate music to my tastes so I manage my music through my Plex server and stream it via plexamp.

I can't imagine trying to keep up with CDs.
