It seems obvious to me, and other die-hard pelicans fans, that something is wrong in the locker room. Is team morale very low from losing so much recently, or has there been internal quarrels about the line-up selections from Willie? Is there finger-pointing going on as to who is to blame for the recent woes?

The fact that we hired the supposedly best NBA medical staff to do a bang up job with this team has been disappointing, as the ball club is reeling from nicks and bruises in our starting five and bench (see Jose Alvarado).

Do y'all still have trust in Willie, the medical staff, or the direction of the franchise?

You may get a range of answers to all of the above but there is only 1 correct answer...I don't know.

2/3 hard no. Direction of the franchise is a soft no just because we saw what this team is capable of with moderate health despite the limitations based on roster construction and coaching.

No idea the answer but watch the body language from December to know and it ain't the same for sure.

You have a mash unit and to ball dominate players in Cj and BI that are on the court together it is hard for them to get in a rhythm.
No zion and no Larry , no Jose
No bi for a month in a half
JV is slowing down I don't know itlfit age or just wear and tear of the season.

Also Willie is a great guy a great leader of men , but he is like les miles zero in game adjustment.

Unless Zion comes back (ha ha) we are dead in the water.

CJ is playing through injury and is probably the glue holding it together. If the annoyance about BIs toe is true, I’ll bet there is frustration with Zion as well.

I imagine the coaching staff is pretty agitated.

This skid is on the front office not upgrading from Willy and Hayes.

We'd look solid with vandebilt and Beasley right now...

Just out of curiosity...do the Pels have "cliques"? If so...what are they?

On a side note...I was watching a Pels' game a coupla games back...& we actually had a player DURING ONE POSSESSION...who dribbled the ball 22 straight times. Never passed it, and ended up taking a highly contested 17' fall away jumper, which he missed. Not running out the end of the quarter...just the regular course of the game...I think it was middle of the 2nd quarter.

I didn't even think it was POSSIBLE...to dribble the ball 22 times...in one possession. Guess I was wrong.

It's pretty much impossible to name internal stuff but body language shows that this is possibly true. But that's not really surprising and isn't really that uncommon. Nobody likes losing. The bench excitement isn't even really the same as it was earlier in the season.

They aren't. Of all the things in your post, this is the one that I'm confident in. This medical staff is not good.

i would agree.

I went to my first Pels game on Monday in about 5 years. Last time i went to a game was when they didn't have the big scoreboard they have now. Sat right behind the bench.
Few things i noticed:

pregame the guys were super excited, especially Billy and GT and Naji. Dancing around and looked full of life and happy.
everyone engaged in the first half and encouraging guys when they came off the court to the bench.

by the 2nd half, Billy looked like he'd rather be anywhere but at that game. Could definitely see the frustration in him.
Kira and Dyson got about as much out of that game as I did. They heard about as much of the coach talk during timeouts that i did, as well as everyone else watching on tv.

late in the 3rd quarter i think it was, CJ passed up a wide arse open 3 and gave it to BI who missed a contested 3. timeout was called right after that and you could see the irritation in both BI and JV's face that they wanted to say somethign to CJ about not shooting it. You could see BI's frustration with everyone about that. doing all that work and kicking it out to someone who either won't shoot, or can't make the three, then the ball gets back to BI with 5 seconds left for him to make somethign happen.

Naji straight up ignored Trey when they both came out in the 4th. Trey tried to say something to him and dap him up, standing there for about 3 seconds and Naji literally ignored him looking elsewhere on purpose, Trey shrugged his head with a "whatever a-hole" look and went sent elsewhere and those two didn't even stand in the same vicinity of each other the rest of the game.

but i would still say that losing is the main culprit to these issues.

That's weird.

I asked this before. What's BI and Zion's relationship?

There's got to be some ego bruising for BI seeing how well the team did without him vs without Zion.

Im struggling to understand why Trey isn't in the lineup at the end of games if we need to score.

When BI gets it, he is either doubled or drives to the lane. We need shooters on the court.

I get it if we are trying to protect a lead and Herb is in.

Willie basically said he felt we got the offense and shots we wanted at the end of that game, but the shots didn't go in.

So...yea. That probably has something to do with it, not good.

You can not play J rich and Herb together down the stretch, Trey has to be in for one of them preferably Herb. It's bad when your more shocked when he makes a 3 than when he air balls one.
