Wtf we are down by 21 and he is playing his starters minus JV with a back 2 back vs Memphis tomorrow night.
He has Larry hobbling around when he can use willy or Jax to eat up some garbage time.
He may be a good man he may be a rah rah guy but he as no idea on how to use a rotation and he is a terrible in game coach.

He does this everytime. Every single time. Idk how smart he actually is.

Hes not a good coach and people will get mad when you point it out.

He’s definitely still learning on the job. Meanwhile I just love guys like Will Hardy and how well he’s gotten this jazz team to play.

He’s good at certain stuff. He got this pels team to be a top 5 defense. That’s impressive. He needs help on the offensive side. He’s a young coach in his 2nd year.

We're down big at the half and what does Willie Green do? Absolutely nothing!
I think his half time talk went like: Okay, guys..we gotta do better. You can do it.

If BI ain’t throwing up 35 and Trey hitting 85% from 3, this team goes iso to CJ which means we’re fricked. Willie is a terrible X and O coach.

There’s some things that just aren’t excusable regardless of how inexperienced or poor offensively he is.
Shamit has dubbed these lineups that Willie seems to run nightly now the “no offense lineups.” Lineups that usually consist of Nance, Richardson, Naji, and Dyson either playing together or in some order.
There’s one that consists of Nance, Richardson, Naji, and BI. They have an ORTG of 89.9. There’s another that’s even worse of the four together, with an ORTG of 68. He never goes to this lineup for that long, 2-4 minute stretches, but they dig such a hole that they have their fingerprints on every game.
We as fans see it, there’s zero reason he shouldn’t or can’t.

Playing starters, in a lost cause, deep into the 4th, with the second game of a back to back looming, is another!

Yeah thats stupid of him. None of those players individually are bad player but they dont belong on the court together. We're missing a lot of offensive creation with Zion and Jose out.
I think willie can be a really good coach in this league and its easy to forget that coaches need to develop just like players. I look at willie like a really promising prospect that just needs improvement. We need a complete overhaul of the assistant coaches and to bring in a bonafide offensive coordinator

3 years as an assistant and 160+ games as an HC. Sheesh!

He also did not respond well after Brown changed up the defense on BI and switched to full court press.
Idk what happened to the guy who continued to make change after change against LAC in the play in last year. It seemed like Willie was better about rotations and making adjustments last year

He's had his best player for all of 29 games in his 2 seasons and his 2nd best player has missed 30 games each year. He's coaching with his hands tied behind his back.

I am not sure if Coach Green doesn't realize the adjustment or just won't make the adjustments. Playing an obviously hobbled Nance and not attempting to play Kira when you need someone to break down a defense (particularly when they blitz BI) points to more of a refusal.
Teams have a blueprint on how to handle BI (where the Pels for all intents and purposes are in the playoffs with no bottom feeders to feed off). They'll blitz him with two players and shade another. In addition, they'll keep a shadow on TM3. The other players on the court have to absolutely eat in this situation, however, after they get the outlet pass from BI they either try to dance (allowing the defense to recover) or are too injured to finish the play explosively.
It's a moot point, but Kira and Jax have the skills to counter-attack this tactic (horizontally and vertically respectively) but they are glued firmly to the bench. I can only surmise that Coach Green would rather wait on Zion to return to fix this glaring issue. In that case, it's poor roster management, not construction.

That's fair. We have to step back and realize he was without Ingram for the first half of the year and without Zion for the back half. And games without both stars.
For us to be realistically flirting with a winning season (possibility of 42-40 season) is pretty good considering the circumstances. He's making progress while nitpick his every move/decision.

Which is an excuse for why we are not a top 3 seed, not an excuse for the absolutely baffling rotations, lack of adjustments, and general lack of coaching.

Pistol...since I'm always lookin' for a silver lining for any & all thunderstorms, I have the following question. Is it just my imagination or does Herb seem to have a bit more arc on his 3-pt shot as of lately? They actually look like they have a decent chance of goin' in when they leave his hand for the past few games, which is a stunning development...and I'm tryin' to come up with a reason that this is suddenly the case.
I'm probably just grasping for straws...but this guy DESPERATELY needs to develope a solid C&S 3 given our current roster.

That's pretty normal for a young and inexperienced head coach though. He's trying to navigate through key injuries, young players, roster deficiencies (rim protection and shooting) and balancing out guys who slump vs guys who just doesn't have it. It's a hard balance. Like Herb, I like that he let Herb play through his struggles and managed Trey through his slump. And now both guys are playing really well.
It's not going to be perfect but Griff needs to help him fill the roster with playable shooters, rim protectors, and rotational bigs. We're close, just a few things to iron out.

Herb, along with TM3, is the silver lining in an uneven year. Herb's off-ball defense has been on-par with his on-ball defense, which is saying a lot. Offensively he continues to develop but I've noticed he is much better off C&S 3s when he moves into position as opposed to being stationary. His contributions slashing to the rim are underestimated and just make the case, in my opinion, that the Pels future is a movement-based offense.

Has no bearing on playing key players heavy minutes in a blowout in front of a back to back
Or the lack of hustle and intensity that shows it head far too often
Or rotation blunders
