I'm shocked. Well not that shocked.
He had the benefit of chris paul being his floor general. He is a 50/50 coach. Looked at what happened when he went out
also, they didnt play abyone last playoff season bc every series the opposing team star player was out.

Wow what an idiotic move by Phoenix. Monty is a top coach in the league and had us getting gradually better every year when they fired him like fools. He won’t be unemployed long. That being said, I would rather stick with Willie. A lot of people on here don’t like him but he’s a new head coach he’s going to have some rocky patches but he’s very intelligent and will keep getting better. Plus the players love him.

Also, everything that I wish Willie would improve on as a coach (leaning on veteran “defenders” in favor of younger talent, celebrating settling for mid-range jumpers, seemingly spitting in the face of analytics) are things that Monty does even more. They’re Willie’s worst tendencies because he learned them from Monty.

Monty Williams can flat out run some set plays and inbound plays. Suns fricked themselves. They are definitely on the way down. There window closed quick.

I’m not sure the OP wants Monty over Willie, but I’ll damn sure take Monty as a bench coach helping Willie. Would be a fantastic get as an assistant if possible IMO

Monty has said it himself that he has grown immensely since his time as coach here. His roles as lead assistants really did him well after his stint here.

With all of the basketball minds out there, to decide that we want to get back a coach that many on this board despised is not going to work. There is usually a time and a place for all reasoning to work. Monty's time here has come and gone.
He is generally a carbon copy of WG. Green was getting a lot of shade from this board as well. It would only take a few difficult games to have WG dissenters wanting to oust him.
I am done with Monty. Good luck elsewhere.
