Will CJJ take Hoover seriously or just got to there. A whatever happens, happens and prepare for Regional play?

I would imagine Coach Jay will use this to setup the regional. Get guys some work, make sure arms are warm, etc.

Hopefully not, the focus should be setting up our rotation, keeping everyone healthy and breaking Crews out of his funk.

If we happen to win the thing, great, but he better not manage this like it's a win-at-all-costs postseason tournament.

I'd imagine he cares more about regionals. We shall see.

The outcome of the SEC tournament has literally zero bearing on our regional, super regional, or omaha status. None at all.

His response was clear as mud and I cannot tell whether he was implying he does or does not care.

I don't give a frick how it ends up for LSU other than be as healthy as possible for the regional. Does that count?

Where does this kind of thought process come from? It’s a chance to bring home an SEC conference trophy for the school and the players. Any trophy in this league is precious. CJJ will no doubt be in it to win it.

How they finish in Hoover? No.

This is all about setting up for regional and Super regional. The work for a national seed is already done. They're likely a 3 or 4. What they do in Hoover probably won't change that.

I think he wants to win every game as do all of us. I also think the end result of the SEC tournament doesn’t really mean anything moving forward so you can go into every game wanting to win but you don’t have to overuse your arms in the process.

The ultimate goal of the SEC Championship is to set up your pitching for regionals.

I’d rather he use it to get some guys some more innings and set things up for the regionals but we’ll see. Wouldn’t mind seeing some guys get some rest for a week and a half to be fresh

People shite on conference tournaments, but our history shows that deep runs at Hoover are a good thing. Of our national championship teams, we had 1 5th place finish at Hoover. All of the other teams that won at Omaha also won or were runner-ups at Hoover.
Maybe just a coincidence because good teams are more likely to win tournaments, but at the very least you can conclude that those deep runs didn’t hurt us.

He said last week that he wants to win 3-4 games this week, which means that he wants to win the championship.

I also heard him say this I think on Mik'd Up. His reason was to not have too many days off between tournament and regionals and also get guys more reps whether it be guys on the mound or guys getting more AB at the plate. With that said, I don't believe he will put any extra strain on the pitching staff primarily to win the whole thing. If it happens fine, but he will likely be setting up for next week and hopefully get a few wins on the way.

You’ve got to be a troll. Nobody can be this unintentionally ironic.

Historically, the SEC teams that have won the CWS don't make a deep run in Hoover.

Thought he said we play to win every game? Not sure why the SECt would be exempted (other than how G3 vs UGA was managed when we actually had a chance to win the SEC).
