Long time Pandora listener-considering Spotify. Need help.

I imagine I'll be slammed for this but I've been a Pandora app listener for as long as the app has been around.
I'm just so used to the format & my stations are set up across all my preferred genres as well as an all "Thumbed Up" station. I let it go on at least 6 hours each workday & typically 10 hours or more on weekends. It's just "always on" for me either in my headphones or my work laptop/docked set up & obviously in my truck.
I have tried to fumble around on Spotify but I just don't "get it".
Does anyone have a recommendation for the best "Spotify for Dummies" video I should watch/learn from? I need a video, I'm not a read/learn person.

I’ve tried to move to Spotify as well but can’t leave Pandora. No matter what Pandora playlist I pick, it’s always playing song I want to listen to or introduces me to new songs I like. I’m sticking with Pandora

I've been on Pandora for many years and just see no reason to switch.

What if you want to hear a certain album or song rather than a playlist?

You can grab any album ever made that you want. What's not to like?

Pandora's algorithm that chooses what songs to play is much better than Spotify's.

Apples vs oranges
Pandora is closer to what us olds would remember as listening to the radio.
Spotify is for when you want to spin the latest album or song by an artist.
That’s a simplistic answer but you get the idea

Are you paying for the service? I have both Pandora and Spotify but use Pandora way more. I'll pull up specific albums on Spotify and that's great, but it still pulls in songs like the album instead of just playing the album. I only ever listen in the car, so I'm typically not troubleshooting the app while on the interstate.
I've used Pandora since I heard about it in the mid 2000's. My stations are set up and it just works for me.

This quote isn't true at all. Did you mean to say Pandora because Spotify is the app for old fashioned playing of a particular album or song. Also, Spotify has better maximum bitrate for streaming, pays artists more, and has a bigger catalogue. It's not eve close. I could see having free Pandora for the playlists, but i couldn't leave Spotify.

Are you just wanting to listen to Spotify “radio” (Pandora style) or specific singles/albums?

Even the free version. Like I said, I typically do this while driving. I can't say I've ever sat and tried to figure out the app. But I've tried to play a few albums. It only allows it to mix and won't play straight through. Which is fine. But then it often seems to start mixing in other artists before finishing the album. I've had a few that it stays on track, but others that it definitely played other artists. Again, I'm always driving, so don't try to figure it out other than switching to Pandora or a Podcast.
Having used Pandora for 15 years, it's just to easy for me to not try to figure out what I may have set wrong

This thread is a classic for this board.
I'm still laughing.

So the free version of Spotify? I have no idea what that is like buy the pay version allows you to play albums and songs and that is pretty straight forward and easy.

I listen to Pandora all day at work. I don't pay for it, so the only annoying thing is the stupid commercials.
It has often introduced me to new songs and artists based on my stations.
I tried Spotify, but didn't like it as much.

I have Pandora and Spotify and use them in different situations. Not sure how I would choose between the two. Having said that, I like Youtube Music way better and I have stuck with it through its shite stage. Still paying and happy to do so.
