Wife and I are heading to Charleston and Savannah for a week. Any restaurants and tourist attractions that are must sees? And the ones that are worth skipping?

Charleston has tons of places
167 Raw is my favorite. No reservations but get on the list and walk around til they call you
Halls is touristy but really good.
Fig is super popular trendy spot. Hard to get in
Peninsula grill is very good. Expensive
SNOB is overrated imo but good.
Under rated is Hanks. Straightforward steak and seafood.
Plenty of others worth trying.

If you are active types, rent a kayak and paddle from Tybee to Little Tybee (Savannah).
Bike across the bridge in Charleston to aircraft carrier area and hit coffee shops.
Other Savannah
Bonaventure Cemetery
Wormsloe plantation
Crystal Beer Parlor
Skidaway Island State Park
Rooftop Bars on the river several to choose from
Alley Cat Lounge.
Just grabbing a drink or beer and walking along the river in Savannah is great.

Wife and I did an e-bike tour in Savannah a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Went on a an easy morning tour and it was just us and the guide.

We stayed at the JW marriott in the old powerplant on the riverfront. Worth a stop just to check out.
Ate at Ole Pink house, 17hundred89, Cotton and Rye were all pretty good. Good cocktails at Vics on the River and the top of the Grand Bohemian Hotel.

Crab Shack on Tybee Island for the best low country boil.
Check out the rooftop bar at the Thompson Savannah.

The Pink House in Savannah. If you don’t get reservation in top part, get in line early to eat in the Pub below. Not the guy who comes around asking to get you out of line either. One of the most Pub ish feeling places I’ve been in US. Dayton Hall in Charleston is great. You’ll have to drive or Uber out since it is not downtown.

the wife and I really enjoyed PawPaw. Poogan's Porch was also really good. Make sure you hit up Carmella's for coffee and dessert.

I just got back from Charleston last week.
Must eat at: Poogan's Porch, Halls Chophouse, NICO Seafood, and Rodney Scotts BBQ. Another BBQ spot is Louis BBQ.
Patriots Point was a fun day activity. The Riverboat cruise that left out of patriots point had the best Shecrab Soup I had all week.
Boone Hall, Cypress Gardens, and College of Charleston is where much of The Notebook was filmed. Each location was pretty interesting and had awesome scenery!
Walk the Battery. The best way to see and appreciate the city are the bike carts that are around. They are very reasonably priced compared to other cities. They charge 10$ per person for 10 mins. You can get anywhere downtown in under 20 mins.
We bought a few gifts at the french market and just really appreciated the downtown area.

I like both of those places. I consider Savanna “Charleston Lite “ , a scaled down version of Charleston.
In Charleston we like to stay at the Vendue.
Favorite restaurants are
FIG
SNOB
Anson
Peninsula Grill
Favorite restaurant in Savanna is the Old Pink House. We usually stay at one of the hotels along the riverfront.

Many think this way. They are wrong. They don’t even look the same.

What do the beaches look like?

Randomly walked up on this place in April, a stroll through the lobby for a little AC and the, how would you say, artifacts and displays, is really awesome.

What do the beaches look like?
Huge tides, nothing at all like panhandle gulf beaches. At low tide, the beach is over a hundred yards wide. At high tide, the water can come all the way up to the dunes.
Darker sand due to the millions of acres of marsh behind all the barrier islands in GA and SC.
The waves are typically bigger than the surf in the gulf.
Fishing from the beach is superior to a gulf beach.
Between Tybee and Charleston, the beaches all look similar but each barrier island definitely has its own distinct vibe.
Tybee's vibe is, to say it nicely, "very casual and informal" if you know what I mean.
Hilton Head is considered uppity, if you know what I mean.
Kiawah is even more uppity, it's where the Bidens stay when they go to SC, if you know what I mean.
Folly is Charleston's version of Tybee.
I'm a Sullivan's Island fan myself. But IOP is ok too.

Common Thread is the best restaurant in Savannah. Make a reservation and be prepared to spend $250-$300 for a couple with alcohol.
