No need for a melt but Hurd being pulled in the 3rd against something called VMI isn’t something to be proud of.

Our "Ace" just gave up 4 runs in an inning to a bottom half SoCon team. I'd say that's melt worthy.
Hopefully it's just the wet weather that gave Hurd issues and not a lack of control. I assume a damp ball would mean lower spin rate which would dampen movement on Hurd's pitches.
Or he just stunk today.

Who is melting in a non sarcastic way? I think you are confusing melting with people just analyzing what is happening.

Expectations need to be tempered this year - next year will be the test.

Melt? Not warranted. Concern about Hurd being our Friday night guy? Possibly warranted considering he had a limited sample size of elite pitching last year

Pitching and hitting need some work and improvement. Not doing any better than all the scrimmage stats that have been posted on here daily.
