Hey Disney, between this and Deadpool and Wolverine, how about you start doing this shite again instead of the Acolyte, The Marvels, Lightyear, and Strange World? People will still buy your products so long as it’s not commie Woke bullshite.

EDIT: And to the Woke assholes who cite “Disney+”, Bluey and their classics are the only thing holding that together.

I'm also happy to see A Quiet Place doing well, and Bad Boys continues to have strong legs.

It’s mind blowing how much they blew this movie, especially seeing Inside Out 2 doing this (and what Super Mario Bros did)

Star Wars and Marvel both have their own sets of issues for all kinds of reasons, but blowing a slam dunk kids movie with one of your most marketable characters from your marquis franchise…

It should have been a 1.4 billion dollar film. It’s still incredible that Disney managed to make that movie bomb. Like right out of the gate, I would have greenlit a trilogy, but Disney decided to make it Woke bullshite and no one saw it.

Just do a Deadpool style marketing campaign just bringing Tim Allen everywhere like St Jude, say it’s going to be good old fashioned family fun, and every boy in the world should have been begging their parents to take them there. And their parents grew up with Buzz and should be saying “Oh thank God, a Buzz Lightyear movie. This should be a nice afternoon with the kids.” But no, that didn’t happen. Disney has sold more Buzz Lightyear action figures than Mickey Mouse dolls. That’s how popular he was, and they still managed to make it bomb over Wokeness. It’s like making a Bluey movie bomb but even worse.

Just make it Star Wars meets Buck Rogers, and you’re good. The names of the films were obvious:

I: Lightyear
II: Infinity
III: Beyond

Some posters here say that Disney is doing fine since Disney+ is doing well. I think it’s like 27% of people subscribe to Disney+ solely because of Bluey, which is probably the greatest kids show of all time and equally tries to appeal to adults with it. If Bluey goes to Netflix (it wouldn’t shock me if Netflix is trying to bribe the makers of Bluey with literally a billion dollars to get them away from Disney), then Disney+ will tank instantly.

Bluey is certainly Disney’s most valuable license right now, but Disney doesn’t make Bluey, they just distribute it. They’re aware of this, and it’s the only property holding Disney+ together right now.

We use Disney solely for Bluey, classic princess movies and big city green. Nothing else gets watched on there.

Just wanted to pop in and defend Lightyear a little bit. It's good, and we enjoyed it a lot. My four year old son loved/loves it.

And it's not super woke, but Disney definitely did put shite into it that they shouldn't have knowing full well it would hurt box office sales. So I don't feel bad for them for a split second. But it's a good movie though.

Looking forward to Inside Out 2. I've heard really good things about it.

Saw the trailer for Moana 2 and I'm excited to see how that goes. I didn't actually think Frozen 3 was going to be a real thing...

Woke or not, it doesn't help that most of those were just bad movies anyway.

I've said it before - a lot of times these political angles get thrust into bad movies as a shield from criticism. The whole "you only hate it because you're X" rather than accept genuine criticism (or as I like to call it, She-Hulking).

Disney would do well to recognize that making good movies is all that matters.

Well, that, and they added a bunch of material from recent acquisitions. There are a lot of movies on there now that fall well outside of the Disney/Marvel/Star Wars footprint.

Lightyear was not a good movie, but the people that think it was “commie” or “woke” are absolutely more obsessed with politics than anyone at Disney. Can’t really speak to any of the other movies mentioned in the thread.

How was Lightyear "Woke"? Serious question.

I actually really enjoyed the movie btw, not sure why it gets so much hate.
