Taking my girlfriend (no pics), her daughter, and my daughter to NOLA for a cruise (ducks for cover) this weekend. We will get down there Friday and the cruise leaves Saturday. We're staying at the Pelham hotel. Looking for something to do to kill some time Friday afternoon. Is the aquarium worth it? Our daughters are 7 & 10.

We'll try to eat at Ruby Slipper CBD Saturday morning if we can get in since it's in the same building as the Pelham.

Also, would love some recs on dinner that are close. Nothing too fancy, but definitely want to get some good NOLA cuisine.

Luke restaurant is right around the corner.

Kids that age will love the aquarium. You could also walk Decatur down to Cafe Du Monde for some beignets and safely walk around Jackson Square and watch street performers, etc.

The re-done insectarium and aquarium are very cool. They should enjoy it.

It just underwent a massive renovation that is supposedly quite nice.

I know its a cliche on this board, but doing Peche is the easy answer for dinner. Make a reservation.

I got sick from Luke's last time I went. I think I got a bad oyster.

The aquarium is 100% worth it.

Took my 13 year old son there in March while wife (no pics) attended a convention. Well worth the time and money. I want to say there were multiple ticket options including a dual ticket adding on admission to the zoo.

We went a few months ago with our child, nephew and their family. It was a fun experience. Highly recommend.
